AMERICUS, Ga. - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has been discharged from a Georgia hospital after he was admitted over the weekend to get treatment for a urinary tract infection.
Update 3:05 p.m. EST Dec. 4: Officials said Carter was discharged Wednesday afternoon from Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
Original report: Just days after being released from the hospital following brain surgery, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter was admitted to a Georgia hospital for treatment of a urinary tract infection. A spokeswoman for Carter said he was admitted to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus this weekend.
“He is feeling better and looks forward to returning home soon,” said Deanna Congileo. “We will issue a statement when he is released for further rest and recovery at home.”
Last Wednesday, on the eve of Thanksgiving and with little fanfare, Carter was released from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta after successful surgery to address bleeding on his brain.

Yeah, ok Poindexter, it was joke. My parents are both deceased. My father was an admitted and proud fascist. My mother just went along and always voted for Democrats. I have six other siblings. Two are conservatives, the rest are liberals. Two of them and I are no longer on speaking terms. In order to communicate with them for any reason I have to speak through a younger sister. Now I know how they felt in 1861.
I also have six siblings. I’d say all voted for Trump.
