Shock: Adam Schiff Investigated Devin Nunes’s Phone Records

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) investigated Ranking Member Devin Nunes (D-CA) as part of his impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, the committee report revealed on Tuesday.

The revelation that Schiff had obtained telephone records related to Nunes was the only new revelation in the report, which otherwise re-hashed Democrats’ arguments in favor of impeaching Trump for allegedly asking Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.

In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Schiff declined to say when the committee had obtained the records, but given the Democrats’ repeated questions during the inquiry about administration officials who had worked with Nunes, such as former Intelligence Committee staffer (now National Security Council official) Kash Patel, it is likely the Democrats sought those records before or during the hearings.

The report cites media reports that Lev Parnas, an associate of Rudy Giuliani who has ben indicted on campaign finance charges, claimed that Nunes tried to meet with Ukrainians to “dig up dirt” on former Vice President Joe Biden. (Nunes had threatened to sue those media outlets, and did so on Tuesday, suing CNN for defamation; he does not appear to have been given an opportunity to answer the allegations in the report.)

Ah yes, the game within the game. Which raises an interesting point, why are the proglibs exposing their full strength? Or, are they?

Right now, they seem to be violating every rule laid down by Sun Tzu. Why not play light & tight, to sandbag (just a little)?

Or, have they decided to play smash mouth, line up 11 against 11 and see what Trump can do to stop them? Either Trump isn't responding because he has nothing, or he's really holding his fire.

All very fascinating. One has to wonder how the Chinese, Iranians, Russians and other major players with well developed intelligence networks game play it out within their own ranks. They aren't emotionally tied to this drama as citizens; rather, they can objectively watch and evaluate.

That's way too narrow of focus. This war must be fought on constitutional interpretation. Why is the 2A so circumscribed as to be practically meaningless? Why is the 1A so expansive that it (seemingly) grants license to espionage, sedition and treason?

It's because of 9 people, all human beings subject to the same laws of nature as everyone else. But what if this composition were to be reversed?

What if the 2A once again allowed citizen militia to own ships of war, artillery and other modern day equivalents? What if the 1A was enjoined under war time restrictions to guard against enemy propaganda - including not only foreign, but domestic subversion?

These are the high level, big picture solutions. Flip the SC, and everything falls out in natural order. Which is probably why the proglibs are fighting so hard. This is their Waterloo - they lose this battle, and they're potentially looking at 100 years in the wilderness.

In the Cold War, Soviets in DC would never have been allowed outside a 3 mile or so limit radius from the Soviet Embassy— outside of which they were subject to arrest/deportation. So few of our Cold Warriors left to understand that obamaumao et cie...were and are the enemy.

I believe it was Graham who already hinted at wanting to control the witness list for the WH. Nothing good can come of that. Counting on the GOP Senate to support POTUS is like counting on the IG(s) to indict the Deep State. Not going to happen and a fools errand.
