The allegations about Vice President Biden were without evidence, and the U.S. Intelligence Community had unanimously determined that Russia, not Ukraine, interfered in the 2016 election to help the candidacy of Donald Trump. Despite the falsehoods, Ambassador Sondland would make it clear to Ukrainian officials that the public announcement of these investigations was a prerequisite for the coveted White House meeting with President Trump, an effort that would help the President’s reelection campaign.

Both of these assertions are refuted by public facts. No Ukrainian official ever acknowledged any tie between investigations or meetings with the delay in aid. You can't have coercion unless the party being coerced indicates they were forced to do something they didn't want to do. This is not evidence, it is a political ad.

If what was required, as was asserted several times in this “Report,” that President Zelensky merely had to “announce” the commencement of investigations into Burisma Holdings and its activities in 2016, the very fact that President Zelensky did not do so is prima facie evidence that President Trump never made such a demand, because it would have been extremely easy for Zelensky to make such a statement for public consumption, even if he did not instigate investigations.

It was also reported that Zelensky wanted President Trump to make the July phone call in advance of the July parliamentary elections to help Zelensky’s political party gain seats in the upcoming election, but was somehow worried about the propriety of doing a reciprocal favor for President Trump due to it is improper to get involved in an election, when he just mentioned the importance of having a US presidential phone call’s benefit for HIS party’s election???? Absurd! He knew very well political benefits.

That claim makes no sense in a country and parliamentary system where political favors were and are frequently exchanged to gain political advantage. The system only works due to systemic Quid Quo Pro. . . You scratch my back, and I scratch yours. “You vote for my bill, and I’ll vote for yours, even though we are both philosophically opposed to each others’ bills.“ That’s the way the political world works.

Yet we are supposed to believe that Ukraine President Zelensky would quibble and delay action for an existential refusal to give military aid in exchange for a mere investigation???? So much they waited six weeks or more to make even a slight more to appease the US President supposedly irrational demand for investigations into his maybe/possible election opponent out of a field of candidates of over 20 for an election that won’t occur for 17 months yet? Also absurd!

If a head of state, one whose country is in a state of war with a much richer, much more powerful enemy, in other words is under existential threat, knew his source of lethal weapons was under threat of having that source cut off for a minuscule reason, he’d certainly be falling all over himself to, as soon as possible, eliminate that easily resolved problem to make sure his country would get that aid and those weapons to keep his people and country safe. Since, we are told, all it would take is to hold a press conference, and make a public statement, why a six week delay that may make it too late to get the aid at all?

The fact is he would not dilly-dally around at all, waiting weeks before taking any action to ameliorate the problem. That Zelensky did not take any quick action at all to ameliorate that threat alone shows there was no demand for a Quid pro Quo, and, in fact, it demonstrates that he did not even know there was an existential threat of a cut off in aid!

Not to mention that Sondland admitted he presumed a demand, which was directly refuted by President Trump.
