The New York Times' Executive Editor Dean Baquet released a statement voicing his support for Bloomberg News after President Trump's campaign announced on Monday the media outlet's reporters are now banned from events.
The ban was in response to Bloomberg News' leadership extending their policy of not investigating owner and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to his now-other Democratic presidential candidates. Bloomberg News will continue to investigate Trump and his businesses.
"Bloomberg News is one of the largest and most influential news organizations in the world. We condemn any action that keeps quality news media from reporting fairly and accurately on the presidency and the leadership of the country," Baquet said.
"Bloomberg News has declared that they won’t investigate their boss or his Democrat competitors, many of whom are current holders of high office, but will continue critical reporting on President Trump," Brad Parscale, Trump's campaign manager, stated in a press release. "As President Trump’s campaign, we are accustomed to unfair reporting practices, but most news organizations don’t announce their biases so publicly. Presented with this new policy from Bloomberg News, our campaign was forced to determine how to proceed."
“Since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events," he continued. "We will determine whether to engage with individual reporters or answer inquiries from Bloomberg News on a case-by-case basis."
Parscale said their new rule will be rescinded when Bloomberg News changes its policy.
Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait said they have covered Trump "fairly and in an unbiased way since he became a candidate" and they will continue to do so despite the ban.
IMO the “unfairness” is towards the American citizenry not just Trump admin.
Two communist newspapers. No surprise.
So either the NYT condemns Bloomberg for its self-imposed ban on reporting about Democrats, or Bloomberg isn't "quality news media."
Either one works for me.
Ban the times too.
We condemn any action that keeps quality news media from reporting fairly...
And the NYTs considers this fair???

You talk about sick demented warped logic!
This is not a news organization...if they refuse to do investigative journalism. They are merely a propaganda unit....nothing more.
What would the NYT know about quality news media reporting fairly and accurately???
I guess Bloomy and the rest are not "leadership".
NPR was on it this morning.
“We condemn any action that keeps quality news media from reporting fairly and accurately on the presidency and the leadership of the country”
So, Dean, does that condemnation ALSO include condemning actions by Bloomberg “News” that reduce the quality of fair and accurate news reporting on the presidency by refusing to cover Mike Bloomberg and all of his presidential opponents except Donald Trump? Yeah, I thought so ...
New York Times’ Executive Editor Dean Baquet has got to be an EEO hire. A man of middling aptitude, he is leading the NYT to extinction.
Barf, FOX has on Brazile right now praising Bloomberg News.
“New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet has got to be an EEO hire. A man of middling aptitude, he is leading the NYT to extinction.”
totally. but clearly with the approval of the owners, AND they’re apparently CURRENTLY raking in the bucks by feeding leftist fantasies (as is WaPo and all the rest), so the real reckoning won’t come until those fantasies completely collapse ... NYT will be one of the last ones to go, because their brain-washed subscribers don’t care about objective, fact reporting, ther readers only care to have their confirmation bias confirmed ...
