Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot fired the citys retiring police superintendent Monday, citing ethical lapses that included telling lies about a recent incident in which Eddie Johnson was found asleep at the wheel of his car after having drinks.
Named to the job in the wake of a police shooting that killed a black teenager, Johnson was dismissed after the mayor reviewed an inspector generals report and video evidence related to the night in mid-October when officers discovered him unconscious in his SUV. He initially blamed his failure to take his blood pressure medication and said he had a few drinks with dinner earlier in the evening.
The officers did not conduct any sobriety tests and let their boss drive home. It was unclear if they would be disciplined.
Johnson engaged in a series of actions that are intolerable for any leader or position of trust, particularly the head of the Chicago Police Department, the mayor said. His conduct was not only unbecoming but demonstrates a series of ethical lapses and flawed decision-making.
Lightfoot said the police chief of the nations third-largest city repeatedly lied about the events that unfolded the night of Oct. 16 and morning of Oct. 17.

I bet the Chief was in on a few drug or gun deals and the Mayor cut him loose before it hits the fan.
She is clearly a racist.
not because of high murder rate
No honor among thieves.
Isn’t he the jackwagon who wouldn’t show up for a Trump event? Whoops, another lapse.
He was going to retire Dec. 31.

IOW, should have kept the predecessor.
It's just the Chicago Way -- gotta have a crony in charge to cover for the corruptions, crimes, and irregularities.
Drinking after receiving a kidney transplant from his son. Scum.
‘found asleep at the wheel of his car after having drinks.’

“Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson underwent a successful kidney transplant surgery Wednesday, officials at Rush University Medical Center said.
Johnson, who received a kidney from his 25-year-old son Daniel, is in fair condition, officials said in a news release. Johnson’s vital signs are stable, and he is comfortable and conscious. Daniel, who underwent a simultaneous surgery, is in good condition as well, officials said.”
What was the point? He already had announced his retirement anyway. That Mayor is whacked. She also spewed a lot of disrespect to the president a few weeks ago.
Isnt this the pos that snubbed Trump in chicago?

“Isnt this the pos that snubbed Trump in chicago?”

Ethical lapses = corrupt crooked Hippocritter.
At first I thought it was something serious, like referring to a transgender using the wrong pronoun.
Agreed.
Low class move by a no class Mayor.
They found him using a plastic straw.
As the Second City Cop blog asks: “So now what happens when Groot realizes that Special Ed’s entire tenure was full of lies, cheating scandals, incompetency, double standards and ethical lapses? Is she going to fire all of them, too?”
Can they actual,y take his pension away 1 month out from retirement???
