Mutilated flesh doesn’t look more handsome than non-mutilated flesh. Isn’t more healthy than non-mutilated flesh.
If you bob your dog’s tail, it’s mutilated, because he has nothing to wag. If you trim his ears, however, it’s just cosmetic veterinary surgery, because he can still hear.
That’s the criterion for whether circumcision is mutilation. Does the little fellow still work? I’ve been married 36 years, and it still works. The rest of me remains an open question.
As for the disaffected Jews and Muslims who wish they still had a foreskin, I’d say get over it. All teenagers resent the educational or living choices their parents made for them without so much as a by-your-leave. When you have money and freedom, take matters into your own hands, and have a plastic surgeon re-install it. They even change genders nowadays, so why not the cosmetic appearance of one’s peter. But mutilation, it’s not.
It is mutilation, removing a part of the body designed by God.
God asked for this as a differentiator for His people, the Jews, but that us still God decreed mutilation.

For some Ex Jews and ex Muslims, this is, to them, changing their body without their permission.
