What I don’t get is the optics of voting for impeachment just before Christmas are absolutely awful. Adam Grinch doesn’t play well.
They think we’ll focus on Christmas and forget about this after the new year going into the election.

They may want it as a counter-narrative in the news throughout the holidays - something to distract from the revelations in the IG report.
They will likely make a ruckus, to distract the public from focusing on/learning of their scandals.
It will probably get worse, before it can get better.
