No, that is not the case. The KKK thrived under policies that are left wing and were at their height under left-wing US presidents, particularly Wilson who equated democracy with socialism and screened Birth of a Nation in the White House.
And “since the 50s”, really? Sounds like a review of history is in order, with all due respect.
