I LOVED Miller's "Dark Knight Returns". VERY politically-incorrect, especially by today's standards. Visualize Clint Eastwood playing an aging Batman.
There was one scene where female police commissioner tries to arrest Batman, and is standing behind him pointing a gun. Next scene, Batman punches her in the face, takes the gun, and goes "Hmmm, nice gun".
