SHANGHAI The video app TikTok on Wednesday reversed its decision to block an American teenager who posted a clip in which she discussed the mass internment of minority Muslims in China, and acknowledged that its moderation system had overreached in shutting her out of her account.
The incident raised fresh concerns about whether TikTok, which is owned by the Chinese tech giant ByteDance, muzzles its users in line with censorship directives from Beijing an accusation the company has denied.
TikTok said the teenager, Feroza Aziz, 17, had been barred from using her personal device to access the app, but not because of her video this past week about Chinas detention camps. Rather, the company said, it was because she had used a previous account earlier this month to post a clip that included a photo of Osama bin Laden.
After TikTok banned that account for terrorist imagery, Feroza used a different one to post her video about the plight of Muslims in China.
The video starts with the teenager offering eyelash curling advice to her followers. But this is no ordinary beauty tip.
Just seconds into Feroza's seemingly straightforward tutorial, the 17-year-old Afghan American woman tells the viewer to put down the lash curler and seamlessly transitions from eyelash curling to politics. "Use the phone that you're using right now to search up what's happening in China," she states matter of factly.
She spends the rest of the 40-second clip which has racked up more than 1.5 million views on the wildly popular short video app TikTok criticizing the Chinese government and its detention centers, which hold mostly Muslim Uyghurs in the country's far western region of Xinjiang.

Hmmm. Did they ban her for the OBL post or reinstated her because of the OBL post? Sketchy.
PING!
Muzzies vs. Chicoms. What’s not to like?
No Muslim country criticizes China’s enslavement of Muslims.

In the TikTok, Aziz shows images of the white male celebrities such as Justin Bieber she had crushes on in middle school. "Whatcha Say" by Jason Derulo plays over the short video as she reveals she now has crushes on nonwhite and Muslim celebrities like Zayn Malik. The last photo in the video is of bin Laden.
A girl done up like this is probably no fan of bin Laden:
But the company's ban is no surprise - the Party can seize the owners' assets for any reason or none whatsoever. It will just make up some excuse, whether it's treason, quid pro quo, bribery, etc. In some ways, they're kinda like the Demorats. So Chinese companies always toe the Party line. Or else.
This story reeks of Chinese style propaganda... Designed to make Americans believe TikTok is some legit open expression platform. It is not. It is a camera into the lives of every American who uses it, directly connected to the Chinese governments data tracking servers, determining who are the good Americans and who are the bad Americans. For future reference... Tick Tock...
Good luck traveling internationally in the future should you ever be deemed a bad American.
TikTok is Chicomm spyware and should be banned and blocked in this country for national security reasons.
