Meanwhile O’Malley appears to be actively seeking publicity.

While the press no longer buying ink by the barrel, but by the quart, they still have considerable influence, especially when it comes to spinning this to make Cuccinelli look like the aggressor.

Ideally what he should have done was stayed said nothing and let O’Malley go completely off the rails. But even that would have been portrayed as aggressive.

There was no upside on this for Cuccinelli...it was all bad no matter what he did.
