If Trump Is 'Racist' for Questioning Waters' IQ,
Townhall.com ^ | November 28, 2019 | Larry Elder

Among the reasons Democrats and their media sympathizers offer to show President Donald Trump's alleged "racism" is that he called Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., a "low IQ individual."

At a July 2018 rally in Montana, Trump said: "She is a low I.Q. individual, Maxine Waters. I said it the other day. I mean, honestly, she's somewhere in the mid-60s, I believe that." And in June 2018, Trump tweeted: "Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!"

Trump's tweet was in response to a fiery Water's speech in which she urged a campaign of harassment against members of Trump's cabinet: "Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere."

Now, Trump, of course, frequently calls people, politicians, policies, Democrats and many Republicans of all stripes and colors "dumb" or "stupid." A recent example occurred last month at a Minnesota campaign rally when Trump slammed (white) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "She's either got one of two problems: she's either really stupid or she's really lost it, or maybe there's a certain dishonesty there." In July, Trump called the (white) British Ambassador to the United States "a very stupid guy" for criticizing Trump in diplomatic cables published in a British newspaper.

But questioning Rep. Waters' intelligence, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin proclaimed, is ... "racist." After all, Waters is black, which to Toobin, places her snugly and safely in a no-fly zone. Toobin said: "How about this Maxine Waters stuff over and over again? Low I.Q. How racist is that? I mean, come on. Let's just be honest about this. How many black people does the President have to attack in these terms? I mean, he's always like whether it's NFL football players or, you know, the UCLA basketball players? I mean, come on. Is it a coincidence that he calls a senior black legislator low I.Q.? I mean, it's revolting and we should just be clear about what's going on here."

But does the civility toward "people of color" that Toobin expects apply to Rep. Waters?

After (black) Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson complained about Waters' "lack of good manners" for failing to reply to a letter he sent her, Waters blasted Carson: "I sent him a letter, and he sent me a letter claiming that I had no manners, etc. I basically said to my staff, I really don't have time to be bonded with somebody who does not know the difference between REO and OEO ... This guy just doesn't have the background, the capability, the intelligence to do the job. He doesn't know what he's doing."

Waters argues that Carson, because he supposedly "doesn't know the difference between REO and OEO," lacks "the intelligence to do the job." Why, that's almost as embarrassing as when Waters, chair of the House Financial Services Committee, grilled seven bank CEOs on student loan debt. Waters asked, "What are you guys doing to help us with this student loan debt?" Apparently the chairwoman's staff did not inform her that, years ago, the feds took over that business. The CEO of JPMorgan Chase replied, "When the government took over student lending in 2010 or so, we stopped doing all student lending." Why, that's almost as embarrassing as the letter Waters wrote to Fidel Castro urging the dictator not send back to America a New Jersey fugitive named Joanne Chesimard, a former Black Panther member who escaped from prison after being convicted of murdering a New Jersey State Highway Patrol officer. Waters claimed the escapee was persecuted and compared her to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Did Waters, a sociology major from California State University, Los Angeles accuse Carson, the former director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and who graduated from Yale and the University of Michigan Medical School, of lacking the "intelligence" to perform his duties as HUD secretary? She sure did.

So what are the rules, Mr. Toobin?

When a white, male, Republican politician, like Trump, questions the intelligence of a white, male, British diplomat politician, that's just hardball. When a white, male, Republican politician, like Trump, questions the intelligence of a white, female Democrat, like Pelosi, that's "sexism." When a white, male, Republican politician like Trump questions the intelligence of a black female politician, that's "racism." When a black politician, like Waters, questions the intelligence of a black male Republican, well, that's just hardball.

It is just a tired trope. Any question of Obama by anyone white was shot down as racist. How that term turned it to be such an effective problem solver for Democrats I don’t know. At this point ridicule is the best option. Instead of frantically explaining how you are not racist, laugh and thank them for validating your argument, then walk away. Calling someone racist is a liberal tactic used to silence whites. Nothing more.

Interesting map.

Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore blue nations/provinces. Surprised India is so dumb.

Other surprises — Only Argentina and Chile in South America have intelligence approaching that of the West in general. Mexico has a higher IQ than I expected.

Arabic Iraq is smarter than Persian Iran. So much for Persian IQ.

Cambodia is green and looks like Burma is light green.

China is dark green, amazing consider how huge the country is.

Medium green includes Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Finland, Belarus, and Australia

Looks like Israel, Greece and Cyprus are very light green.

I bet if you divided Italy in half the northern half would be dark green and lower half light green like Greece

Israel is the only intelligent country in a huge swatch of the world from all of Africa across the Middle East and across South Asia until you hit Burma and Southeast Asia.

Syria and Yemen seem especially dumb for a region known for low IQ general.

In North Africa, why is Morocco so much dumber than Algeria and Egypt, while Libya is smarter?

Russia is medium green and southwest Europe is surprisingly low IQ, including Ukraine and Romania.

Central American nations of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras are as dumb as the dumbest countries in Western Africa. All of them are competing for the lowest IQ nations in the world.

Amazing how much of the world is a vast IQ wasteland.

By the way it seems to the policy of Democrats in America to import as many people as possible from the dumbest countries in the world.

What is her IQ? Anybody know? She likely doesn’t know herself because she was unable (Read: Too stupid) to complete the test.

If California were a separate country, it would be yellow and the rest of the U.S. would be dark green like China.

“Civil rights” laws were created to criminalize anything at all that a White says or does that a non-White doesn’t like.

Defending a low IQ by sounding like a Valley Girl?

Tune in next week when he says, “You know”

I still say the most accurate thing I've ever heard about her is that she really does have James Brown's hair.

It was later deemed "racist" to point that out...

Not to me. I mention it every time her name comes up.

Marxine is smart enough to get herself into a multi-million dollar mansion well apart from the slum district she represents.

She's been fortunate enough to surf a great wave of tribalism and societal guilt. To quote Obama, "She didn't build that by herself."

Waters is beyond words of description. The one that fits best is very “stupid.”

And what does that say about her constituents? Maybe they are not so stupid, as long as Maxine is bringin' home the bacon.

This is not a thread hijack, but when I participated in a Union contract bargaining negotiation, I noticed that the Union team always had a one member that was that crusty ol' guy that nobody liked, who had been around for years. He was willing to at every step throw the baby out with the bath water. It was a good cop bad cop kind of deal on their side. There were outrageous antics, all designed to intimidate and get the advantage. Every time I called him out on what he was doing, the Union team in mass went nuts.

That is the Maxine Waters model of getting things done.

It needs to be exposed at every turn. Good post.

Waters is just a prop that political interests keep in place to guarantee a steady flow of government cash. She doesn't make any decisions on her own...and neither did Obama. She doesn't need a high IQ to do the job she has been put in office to do.

No, she is not stupid.

She has parlayed her talents into a multi-million dollar a year life-style.

Trump threatens that lifestyle, which is, essentially, based on corruption.

She is doing everything in her power to defend her corruption.

She is corrupt, not stupid.
