Former President Barack Obama once warned he would intervene to stop Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., from winning the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a new report that sheds light on Obamas personal views of the jam-packed primary field with no clear front-runner.
Obama has largely stayed on the sidelines to date, refraining from any endorsements though he has issued general warnings to the party to avoid calls for radical upheaval in their policy pitches. These warnings were seen as a swipe at candidates like Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sanders.
But a new Politico Magazine report gives a clearer picture of what Obama is worried about claiming he has said in private hed speak out against Sanders if it looked like he could actually win. [ ]
The Politico piece said Obama recalled to one candidate who came to him for advice how he himself had a bond with the voters that has since faded. He reportedly added, And you know who really doesnt have it? Joe Biden.

What “right?” We do not have a “right” in the Western World. We just have less-left. In a right-wing country we’d have 3/4 million executions a year and 36 abortions instead of 3/4 million abortions a year and 36 executions. There is no “right.” There are only people who label themselves, or are labeled by “the left” as, “the right.”
It’s called the right. Settle down.
That would be nice but people on FR do personal insults all the time ... and I know because I was the recipient of a lot of them.
One adviser said that while they personally had no knowledge of this, the threat of a Sanders nomination would likely be cause for action.
"I can't really confirm that," the adviser said, regarding the possibility of Obama trying to stop Sanders. "He hasn't said that directly to me. The only reason I'm hesitating at all is because, yeah, if Bernie were running away with it, I think maybe we would all have to say something. But I don't think that's likely. It's not happening."
So when anonymous sources say something about Obama, it’s the same as when anonymous sources say things about Trump?
In the sense that I don’t trust either, yes. I have no idea if Obama said he would intervene, and if he did say it, was he serious? If he does directly step in, that makes this article more believable.
This is true; the media are bent on sowing confusion rather than doing their duty to society.
I disagree. They could win if they didn’t run another rigged nomination. Instead, they’ve set up a process where if no one has a majority on the first ballot, all delegates are free to vote as they choose (or are coerced tp vote for). They could end up with a scenario where the hard left would rather have four more years of Trump than eight years of someone who doesn’t represent them.
