Georgia Clark, teacher who asked Trump to deport ‘illegal’ students, wins job back

Clark, whose Twitter account has since been deleted, is now entitled to return to the classroom with back pay and employment benefits or district officials can fork over one year’s salary.

The teacher was fired in June after seeking assistance from Trump in a barrage of tweets that she said she thought were private messages to the commander-in-chief, Clark later told a district investigator.

“Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico,” one message sent on May 17 read. “Carter-Riverside High School has been taken over by them.”

In another tweet, Clark said her earlier attempts to “remove the illegals” were rebuffed by local and federal authorities in Fort Worth, where 34 percent of residents are Hispanic or Latino, census data shows.

School officials had argued that Clark waived her First Amendment rights by signing a contract with the district, an assertion that Morath ruled was erroneous.

Clark did not “waive her right to contact, outside of the workday” elected officials about topics in which they have jurisdiction, according to Morath’s ruling.

Illegal students in high school.

If that is so then the students were possibly/probably brought into this country illegally by their family when they were much younger.
THOSE students are in the middle of an immigration mess.

They should all be rounded up and deported, parents and kids alike. Anyone that resist should be jail, anybody with conspires to keep them in the US should be jail. This teacher is a hero for bringing up the issue, we need to act to fix the problem.

Superintendent Kent Scribner said late Monday that the district stood by its decision to fire Clark, saying it was in the “best interest” of all students.

Given her job back? She should be given Kent Scribner's job back, and HE should be deported!

Glad she got her job back.

But I’m confused. She thought tweets on twitter were private? I don’t use twitter, but is there even a private option?

When my daughter was starting her teaching career, FWISD was practically begging her to come teach. She saw what the school was like back then (Pascal HS) and politely declined. Best decision she could have made. My DIL moved from Dallas ISD to a suburban ISD, much safer, far better teaching environment. The inner city ISDs in Texas are a cluster. More interested in pandering than teaching.

Wish we could get an accurate figure on how many billions of dollars are being spent on the children of illegal aliens in our schools.

At least $150B. Free breakfast, Free Lunch, Food pack for the weekend, classes in their own language, subsidized housing, food stamps, free medical, etc.

What taxes they pay if any are a spit in the wind. Each kid is about $15K a year just for school. With 2,3, or 4 kids they would have to be making high 6 figures for a salary.

I hear the same phrase over and over, even from the legal ones: “In my country....” They are not talking about the U.S.
