Fired Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer lashed out at President Trump in an interview with CBS News on the steps of the Pentagon Monday evening. Spencer, who mutinied against Trump over his order to not kick Chief Petty Officer Eddie Gallagher out of the Navy SEALs, also attacked Trump in his letter acknowledging his firing this past weekend over the Gallagher case.
Spencer said of Trump, What message does that send to the troops? That you can get away with this? We have to have good order and discipline. It is the backbone of what we do. I dont think he really understands the full definition of a warfighter. A warfighter is a profession of arms and a profession of arms has standards, that they have to be held to and they hold themselves to.

In his letter Sunday acknowledging his firing, Spencer condescendingly wrote to Trump:
As Secretary of the Navy, one of the most important responsibilities I have to our people is to maintain good order and discipline throughout the ranks. I regard this as deadly serious business. The lives of our Sailors, Marines and civilian teammates quite literally depend on the professional execution of our many missions, and they also depend on the ongoing faith and support of the people we serve and the allies we serve alongside.
The rule of law is what sets us apart from our adversaries. Good order and discipline is what has enabled our victory against foreign tyranny time and again, from Captain Lawrences famous order Dont Give up the Ship, to the discipline and determination that propelled our flag to the highest point of Iwo Jima. The Constitution, and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, are the shields that set us apart, and the beacons that protect us all. Through my Title Ten Authority, I have strived to ensure our proceedings are fair, transparent and consistent, from the newest recruit to the Flag and General Officer level.
Unfortunately, it has become apparent that in this respect, I no longer share the same understanding with the Commander in Chief who appointed me, in regards to the key principle of good order and discipline. I cannot in good conscience obey an order that I believe violates the sacred oath I took in the presence of my family, my flag and my faith to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The President deserves and should expect a Secretary of the Navy who is aligned with his vision for the future of our force generation and sustainment. Therefore, with pride in the achievements weve shared, and everlasting faith in the continued service and fidelity of the finest Sailors, Marines and civilian teammates on earth, I hereby acknowledge my termination as United States Secretary of the Navy, to be effective immediately.
Spencer was fired after Secretary of Defense Mark Esper learned he had gone behind his back and proposed to the White House to fix Gallaghers review so that he remained a SEAL.
CBS noted that Spencer, no longer with a government limo at his service, had to be picked up by his wife in the family car at the Pentagon.
Yep, thats what I cant figure. Whats the big deal about anyway? Its a terrorist thats no longer functional. I dont see any problem, but thats just me.
Give him a quick beat down, cuff him and escort him off Federal Property, never to return again.
He violated the very things - in the standards of good order and discipline - that he claimed he respects, when he tried to break the chain of command and defy a lawful order he had been given.
If he had any respect at all, he would have acknowledged his mistake and left quietly.
‘What exactly did this guy do wrong, according to the Navy?”
The only charge against him after everything was dropped was he posed with a dead terrorist, just like in Full Metal Jacket. It wasn’t like Gallagher was collecting ears and making necklaces.
The rest of the Swamp looks at this and sees their future. It’s why they’re so deeply dug in on The Resistance.
Looks like the guy is a PC pussy and has an immature personality...Waaaaaaah!
Yes...FWIU Gallagher was falsely accused of whatever and did jail time. All they could get him on is taking a photo with a dead zipperhead. For some reason they tried to railroad him...they actually did and that’s why he was sent to jail to begin with until another guy told them he killed the goner. ALL of the Navy staff in this fiasco should be fired.
He wanted to be fired so he could make statements like this. Another tool of the Deep State being used to attack Trump.
The constitution does not mention the Uniform code of Military Justice. It does define the President of the USA as the Commander in Chief. Period. End of story.
“Hmmm... looks like an attempt to create an impeachable act”
Interesting observation.
“Vindman should be GONE”
Yes, indeed. Big Bump!
That is what this is about. Defy the commander in chief? and be gone.
Well *ssh*l*, I understand the full definition of a warfighter, and I'd rather be in a stack with Chief Gallagher than even in the same theater with you.
What message does that send to the troops?
The message I get from POTUS is he backs the troops.
The message I get from you is that you're a back stabbing piece of shit and a REMF, who should be keelhauled off the USS Nimitz.
Spencer got caught up in Collin Green’s little FU party to retaliate against Gallagher’s pardon and rank reinstatement. It had zippola to do with proper procedures and everything todo with giving Trump the finger.
Don’t go away mad, just go away.
Good thing this guy is gone...however, he's so consumed with that I'm sure we're going to see more of him......maybe he's signed up with PMSNBC already.
Leni
He’s not an employee, he’s an elected official. Big difference, he serves at our pleasure.
Let me see if I have this correct. He is bitching and moaning that PDJT doesn’t understand proper discipline in the services, AND he sneaks behind his direct commander’s back to negotiate a deal with the President, showing lack of understanding of proper discipline and command structure?
“It wasnt like Gallagher was collecting ears and making necklaces.”
UGH! I guess as long as you dried the ears in the sun for a week. /s
Spencer, do not go away angry. Just go away,
The Seal didnt bend over and grab his ankles!
