Protests flared across Iran for a second day on Saturday, with angry crowds calling for the ouster of the regime in unrest incited by a steep increase in officially set gasoline prices but that quickly broadened to include other grievances.
At least six people were dead after security forces clashed with protesters, according to Persian language news outlets. Iran was also experiencing a “near-total national internet shutdown,” according to NetBlocks, which monitors cybersecurity.
“We don’t want an Islamic Republic, we don’t want it, we don’t want it,” demonstrators chanted in the middle-class Tehranpars neighborhood of Tehran….

Not sure if its feasible but I wish there were a way to ship weapons to these protestors.
I suspect that some of these security forces (including the Basij) may think twice when confronted by a protestor firing a Glock at them.
Why isn’t the Press asking Jimmy Carter his feelings considering it was he and the CIA that overthrew the Shah??
That’s what you get for withdrawing your support for the Shah in 1979 — you got the Ayatollah’s for 40 years and counting.

Islam is one of those regimes like socialism where if you vote yourself into it, you have to fight your way out. They should CURSE their parents for allowing it to take hold in the first place.
The same way our grandchildren will CURSE us for allowing the american republic to collapse into communism.

I was in college in 78 and 79 when the Iranian students were protesting the Shah at us colleges. I remember think how stupid they were for protesting a regime that they were clearly the beneficiaries of.
They sure wanted it forty years ago! Got it good!
I always felt the children of those rioters back then would want something different than their parent’s islamic republic.
