I hope I am wrong and I placed a lot of faith in the IG to write a fair report, but examine the previous report on the Strzok-Page text messages and bias.
They found “no evidence’ that the bias impacted either investigation.
I cannot wrap my head around that and as I wrote yesterday on another thread - such bias would get a case tossed out of court immediately with prejudice.
The IG report is important if Barr/Huber are conducting a fair investigation as it locks in the players who are still employed with DOJ to statements. It also uncovers the paper trail for much of this sordid tale.
I think the IG report will be damning, but I am not sure it will be the “bombshell” we hope for in that the media will spin it and soften any blows it delivers.
It is pretty obvious now that the real scandal, the one that will be so obvious that even the left cannot spin their way out of it, is the Ukraine.
On a good note.... after the stench of the Ukraine becomes so bad it cannot be ignored we still have putrid piles of corruption in China, Romania, and Iraq. On top of that, this scam happened all over the world albeit on a smaller scale.
The real battle with the deep state has started.
The bombshell aspect will have to be teased out by the legal analysts interpreting it for the public. At least half of those analysts will declare "nothing burger." Plenty of others will connect the dots in a reality based manner. Since Horowitz doesn't have the job of prosecuting wrongdoers he will merely lay out the evidence of wrongdoing. It is up to Durham and his posse to prepare the indictments. They have been working on that for a while now, since Horowitz has long since handed off his findings to them. Plus Durham's group has been digging on their own. The Dec. 9 report may not spell out exactly what is coming but the implications will be laid bare.
Maybe you are right and it will all fizzle according to the old Washington formula. I believe the opposite is more likely. I think William Barr meant exactly what he said in his speech to the Federalist Society. We could well see the biggest government shakeup since the Civil War.
