I don’t trust McConnell to have a backbone in sorting out the hearing rules/witnesses....or even initiating a trial.
He’s not great but he will NOT have a trial that ends up convincing the president. That would be absolutely stupid and would destroy the party for decades if not longer.
I don’t know if it’s lack of backbone, or maybe skeletons in the closet, but I just don’t trust McConnell.
