Qualified?

Most journalists aren’t qualified to swab their own rumps.

Green was promoted to Rear Adm. in 2014, he’s an 0bama Adm. boy.

I’d describe it more like the herd needs a good solid culling of the traitors!

Now this position was not relayed second hand. It came directly from the CIC, I bet that got their attention. I would love to be there today as they stew in their own juices after pissing off not just any o’l superior officer, but the big guy who is at the top of the pyramid. Unlike so many messages that are second and third hand, this missile was very personal Trump, directed at the JAGs, the entire Naval high command, and the Secretary of Defense. Note the use of capital letters for emphasis and his directive to get back to work on important matters. You have got to love it.

One of the interesting facts I learned in the novel, South Pacific, is that while a person can enlist in the U.S. Army and proceed to advance through the ranks, the U.S. Navy is a model of nepotism. High ranking naval officers are exclusive members of the wealthy elite, and if you’re not in the club, your career is going nowhere.

Exactly!

The CinC wanted to make a point and he surely did, that review board should be gone for Chief Gallagher and if not Green will be gone soon.

“Pull the pin on Adm. Collin Green and throw him into the Obama trash bin for worthless Admirals and Generals.”

Agreed. For the life of me, I can’t understand how anyone can get to this rank in the military (any branch) and still be a bleeding heart commie. How could they ever fight a war with those kinds of leftist beliefs?

They can't, which is why we never win any more wars with them in charge. They constantly block the good leaders who want to kill and seriously wound the enemy to end the war.

Yeah...they didn’t believe it because they couldn’t believe anybody could be that stupid. Ironically they do/did view Americans as inferior, but Ike did use Patton’s strengths in the end...before they killed him in Mannheim!

I still say this is the next investigation. This Admiral is trying hard to get fired and that will be the next impeachable offense investigate by Adam Schiff.

"The Chief could be given an assignment where he could serve for 1 year - perhaps as a liasion to the Army or teaching post."

No, not to a teaching post - I'd be afraid of what he would teach and how many minds he could ruin.

“I believe that this would be fair compensation for the legal attack on his name and service.”

This has been the problem with all the threads on this topic. He was convicted through a general court-martial under the UCMJ, and was sentenced for his actions. President Trump had a difference of opinion and took an action that did not overturn the decision by the court-martial board, just relieved him of the sentence which was loss of rank.

In Gallagher’s own words, right after the C-M was completed, he said, “I put a black eye on the two communities that I love — the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy — specifically the SEAL community,” he said.

https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2019/07/03/seal-sentenced-for-posing-with-dead-detainee/

A military member is expected to conform to actions consistent with the needs of the country and their mission, especially a senior NCO.

Determining the further actions of a senior NCO that has been convicted of a court-martial for inappropriate actions/expectations under Article 133 can place the member into question and not fit for the requirements of an assignment or career field. It’s nothing new. The MEB is for that purpose using the conviction of the court-martial as a display of possible inappropriate actions.

The military justice system is different from the civilian world. He’s still guilty of the crime, just forgiven. And that directly effects his expected, and required, performance as a combat member in a sensitive area. So he can have his rank back by Trump, but is he qualified to remain in the SEAL career field? That’s for the MEB to decide. Until then, he cannot perform in the career field and cannot display any identification that says he is within it. He is out of uniform at that point.

As a former senior NCO from Vietnam to Desert Storm as military member, and Afghanistan and on as a DOD civilian, I have empathy for his situation. But he needs to be cleared to “go” before he does. More power to him. But he screwed up based upon expectation. He has to answer for those the military way, not through empathy.

Were you aware that the JAG prosecutors hack into the defense legal team’s computers by using malware? As soon as that was discovered the case should have been thrown out.

No doubt but I think the bigger issue is that the President explicitly endorsed Gallagher as a great guy and the Navy responds by going after his Trident. Apparently, he wants to retire so why not let him and put this mess behind the Navy and move forward. This was a needless poke in the eye to the President that would have left him looking weak had he ignored it.

Yes, going after him could be construed for insubordination... however, as I stated, while it appears prosecutors botched this guys case, the charges against him are pretty serious and from several independent and unrelated people. This doesn’t come across as a railroading to me...

As I said if he stabbed some captured ISIS scumbag to death on the battlefield, against the rules of war, I am not really all that concerned... ISIS is not national recognized state, they are a terrorist organization, as such I don’t care what BUSH said, they are NOT covered by the Geneva Convention... So, I am not losing sleep if one of our men lost their mind momentarily and killed one of them in a barbaric fashion.

If, however, he was running around in bloodlust randomly killing civilians and hoping the fog of war would protect him from it, he’s a sociopath, and needs punished.

I can certainly understand why the military does not think this guy should walk without consequence for his behavior, and be resent for someone off the battlefield, letting this guy off with no consequences.

Personally, I would be personally vary worried about this guy walking around in the general public... If even half of the things alleged against him are true, he’s snapped.
