Even at two percent, most of us know that is just a ‘placeholder’ percentage.
2 cents was the way the disgraced ex Governor Jennifer Granholm tried to push her 2% sales tax increase in Michigan. She got the epithet “Two Penny Jenny” forever as her punishment. Somehow she still works for cable TV.
The lying , filthy leftist newspapers (printed in those days) in Detroit said day after day in every story on this that 2 cents is hardly anything, you cheapskate taxpayers. Vote it in.
Then when passed, they suddenly had all the stories say “You know, that really means 2% so a car would equal X dollars more and a house sale would equal X thousand dollars more going out in taxes. And what you buy all year adds up, you know. Hypocrites!
