Flynn pleaded guilty, so none of these finer points matter. Didn't he do this to stop the hemorrhage that had already ruined him and his family? They should toss out his plea, reimburse him for every nickel, find the guvmint lawyers in contempt and put them in jail for as long as the law allows.

Yes and, far worse, he was being shaken down by his own lawyers who were so conflicted they were ethically obligated to withdraw and didn't. That meant they couldn't mount an effective defense and were, in effect, collaborating with the totally corrupt Special Counsel in extorting him into an invalid guilty plea. Those massive attorneys' fees were instruments of extortion to force an invalid guilty plea. Thus, those attorneys and their whole firm, ought to be sued for horrific, deliberate, gigantic malpractice, including compensatory and punitive damages.
