Presidential candidate Joe Biden has released an infrastructure plan that calls for $1.3 trillion in investment over 10 years.
The plan, released Nov. 14, makes a pledge to update the nations freight infrastructure, from highways and canals to railroads and tunnels. Biden plans to spend $50 billion over the first year of his presidency to repair roads, highways and bridges. He proposes a new $40 billion, 10-year Transformational Projects Fund, which will provide substantial grants for projects that are too large to be funded through existing programs, such as a major port upgrade or new tunnel.
Biden also plans to double funding for discretionary grant programs such as the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) and Infrastructure For Rebuilding America (INFRA) programs.
Ed Rendell, former Pennsylvania governor and co-chair of the Building Americas Future Educational Fund, said Bidens plan is a good step toward infrastructure investment. Building Americas Future is a bipartisan group of elected officials who advocate for investment in infrastructure and educate the public on infrastructure-related policy matters.
If were serious about rebuilding the American infrastructure [and] making it competitive with other countries, you have to have a sizable investment, Rendell said.
One major tenet of Bidens plan is the research and adoption of energy-efficient vehicles. He plans to develop a federal research program to study reducing the cost of biofuels and developing more efficient engines for longhaul trucks. Biden also pledges to invest in public transportation systems and help states adopt electric cars, steps that are meant to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Every investment must not only go to help repair infrastructure, but help reduce climate change, and we think thats a very positive step, Rendell said. Nothing could be better for climate change than getting more people to take public transportation.

PING.
Yeah because the $787 billion he oversaw for Obama’s “Stimulus plan” worked out so well for the US.
WAKE UP YOU DAMN SHEEP. There is no plan to fix anything by a clown who been in DC since 1972. If there WAS a real plan to solve anything, why the hell hasn’t he ever DONE IT?
I’m hoping Mayor Pete wins the nomination and chooses Biden for his running mate. Then the ticket would be Butt-Plugs.
“Railroad, steam boat, river and canal - Yonder comes a sucker....”
Damned earworms, anyway.
What happened to the billions of dollars collected in gas taxes? I thought the purpose of those taxes was to keep the roads and bridges in good repair. No matter what politicians claim, all tax money goes to buy votes and support themselves, their families, and their cronies.
“Industry Stakeholders React Positively to Biden’s Infrastructure Plan”
Where is the backup information for the headline. Rendell doesn’t count. What industry stakeholders react positively??
1) Not a shock when entire industries who sustain themselves on the government teat applaud more spending.
2) Trump would have already done an infrastructure bill if Nancy & Co. were concerned with actually doing their jobs and not Trump derangement.
Then the ticket would be Butt-Plugs.

I guess if we can’t have Weiner/Holder 2020, that will have to do.
The hogs are in favor of more hog food subsidies....
bttt
More money for more Affirmative Action engineers to design more collapsing bridges.
“Stakeholder” is a term of art; it refers to bureaucrats and stuffed-shirts from government and “non-profits”, not actual industry executives.
Sheesh, these things take time...they cant be rushed. Siphoning off money to your union cronies and son doesnt just happen overnight.
Im still holding out for the Weiner-Holder ticket.
The U.S. government would spend more than $44 trillion over that time period even if spending were held at current levels (I know -- stop laughing about that last point).
To get the rest of the Dims aboard they’ll have to spend most of the money “green”.
The rest of it will go to kickbacks.
Didn’t his boss do something similar? You know, those shovel ready jobs that he later admitted weren’t so shovel ready? About 1trillion wasn’t it? All that money to donors and supporters and the American taxpayer paying the tab. No wonder they want the President gone.
“1) Not a shock when entire industries who sustain themselves on the government teat applaud more spending.”
There is no other customer for roads, bridges, canals and dams.
