Its what is needed. Go look for the video from Cromwell with Richard Harris. This speech is done real well.

It was really when he decided to have his son succeed him that people started thinking, “Uh, didn’t we have that before?”

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barterd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defild this sacred place, and turnd the Lords temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressd, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!
Oliver Cromwell April 20, 1653
Wow. Talk about clear and concise.

Yeah, makes sense getting rid of a king, and then making yourself Lord Protector for life.

Well, we all know what happened to him...
I believe he was hanged, drawn and quartered and then beheaded. Of course they had to drag his body from the grave to do it, but they did. His head has been recently recovered and buried in a secret location in Cambridge.

If you even knew one iota of history you would know that he did not want to be Lord Protector for life.
Matter of fact, he lost interest in the government BECAUSE of the complete and utter corruption of the elected officials within the government.
Sound friggan familiar? Can you make the connections or not?

Why did they desecrate the body years after he was dead (suspicious circumstances)?
He wad probably poisoned by an ancestor of Clinton................

" he did not want to be Lord Protector for life" Actions speak louder than words(or in this case his writings). He was Lord Protector for life and then designated his son as his successor.

I highly recommend that if one is in London to take the train from King's Cross to Peterborough and get off at Huntingdon and visit the birthplace and museum of Oliver Cromwell. It is a small museum that is chock full of artifacts that is well worth the visit.
To: Red Badger
Not only was it done to his remains, it was done to three others.
Besides all that. The Stuart monarchy was a complete and utter failure. They talk of Cromwell being made lord protector for life and his dissolution of Parliament. Yet how many times did the Monarchy dissolve Parliament? For what reason did they do it?
Cromwell did it for what reason? Read the speech and you will see.
