A top Navy SEAL officer is defying President Donald Trump’s defense of Chief Petty Officer Eddie Gallagher by sending his controversial case to a military review board which could result in his ultimate expulsion from the SEALs.
On November 15 Trump reversed the demotion of Gallagher, a Navy SEAL who acquitted of murder this summer, and restored his title of Chief Petty Officer. The president also pardoned two other officers jailed for war crimes as well.
Trump’s grant of executive clemency has been harshly criticized over violations of international humanitarian law.
Despite the Commander in Chief's pardon, Rear Admiral Collin Green, the head of the Navy Special Warfare Command, is taking the matter before a military board.
'This is a review of their suitability to be a SEAL,' an unnamed Navy officer said to CBS News, adding the review has the backing of both the secretary of the Navy and the chief of Naval Operations.

Flagrant Insubordination to the Commander in Chief! Article 134 of the UCMJ at the very least too.
I hope this dirtbag views his TDS was worth losing his retirement. Oh and anyone else involved in this should also deal with the same consequences.
Look at Vindman. There is absolutely no punishment for insubordination in the military with Trump POTUS. And you can thank the bipartisan nature of Never Trumpism for that. The military brass think of Trump as a short timer and the coupist Uniparty as their masters.
I would guess that multiple Freepers know or have worked for Admiral Green. I wonder what his reputation is. Is this guy a real SEAL, or is he an Obama-appointee pretending to be a good guy?
Ft.Leavenworth prison awaits the admiral.
Admirals who think they are dictators...
As if a review board could supercede the president's constitutional pardon authority.
He either has balls or 30 years behind him. Stinglaub comes to mind. He’ll get his retirement. No one stands up for principal when there’s money involved.
Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday made clear he supported Green. His spokesman, Cmdr. Nate Christensen, told CNN that Gilday “supports his commanders in executing their roles, to include Rear Adm. Green.”
The White House declined to comment. CBS was first to report on the review.
Gallagher’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore, told CNN that while Gallagher has been told to appear in San Diego Wednesday, he has not been officially notified of the reason. Parlatore added that Trump’s decision to restore Gallagher’s rank meant that any additional punishments would go against the President’s intent.
“It’s incredible that they still can’t let this go,” Parlatore said, adding that the Navy’s leadership was choosing to “essentially ignore” Trump’s decision.
Has this ever happened before?
SOF Ping.
You’re fired!
That is what I was wondering.
I'm afraid eight years of the kenyan is becoming abundantly clear. During that time, if you asked a simple question that could be construed as questioning the usurper, you were immediately drummed out, so consequently, his brainwashed Deep State officers took a firm hold. Unfortunately, quite a few flag officers are NEVER challenged or questioned and they begin to look at themselves as above the rules - and that includes guys like Mattis.
Is Trump the Commander-in-Chief or not?
“their suitability to be a SEAL”
He was pardoned for the crime.
“Suitabiity” is/could be a team player issue.
It could also just be a sourgrapes/piss on POTUS issue.
Kind of like in “A Few Good Men” when the two guys were booted out.
It is an FU to President Trump. He is telling him to GFY with an LD. He should be challenged. But I doubt if he is. Some Democrat in a high position of power instructed him to do that to get a reaction from President Trump. Until President starts putting a few asses in prison, this crap will continue.
The President restored his rank to CPO.Is being a Seal a Naval bunk apart from rank?
“Is Trump the Commander-in-Chief or not?”
Apparently this remains to be determined...
I suggest that Rear Admiral Collin Green be brought up on Court Martial charges of disobeying a lawful order.
