Most Americans today in 2019 say they are struggling financially

Many Americans remain in precarious financial shape even as the economy continues to grow, with 7 of 10 saying they struggling with at least one aspect of financial stability, such as paying bills or saving money.

The findings come from a survey of more than 5,400 Americans from the Financial Health Network, a nonprofit financial services consultancy. The project, which started a year ago, is aimed at assessing people's financial health by asking about debt, savings, bills and wages, among other issues.

Despite solid U.S. economic growth this year, the share of Americans who are struggling financially remains statistically unchanged from a year ago, said Rob Levy, vice president of research and measurement with Financial Health Network.

Um Folks, this is the Fake News talking down one of the strongest economies of our lifetime!

I’m shocked some of you people still accept the premise of these liars given their history.

I’m having a wonderful fall/early winter. I’ve been able to pay down that one humongous credit card that’s plagued us for years. Not only that, we’re having a cash Christmas.

We’ve been struggling since 2008 and thanks to Donald J. Trump, we’re finally out of the woods.

Now with a new branch of our business coming on line in the spring, we might finally be able to say we’ve made it.

“Despite solid U.S. economic growth this year, the share of Americans who are struggling financially remains statistically unchanged from a year ago...”

I wonder if that takes into account all of the boomers who left work last year, or if this is only employed (legal) workers, or includes illegals and welfare people. It seems very easy to fudge the data.

Yeah, they are struggling to get to their computers to order stuff for Christmas.

These people are laughable. What desperation.

The ones struggling in the country today live in BLUE States where they’re taxed out the rectum by Progressive RATs, e.g., New York, California, Oregon, Washington, New Jerey, etc.

More people are employed & should be making more money, but it takes time to dig yourself out of a financial hole that you’ve been in for years. SO, it isn’t a surprise that people are still struggling.

I actually work for a private multinational company that has a pension. Good reason to stick around with them.

Living debt free or with very limited debt and living below your means is always the best way. Even now when I don’t need to shop sales I almost never buy clothes that aren’t on clearance or a good sale.

We have a small house and only one small car payment. I could pay outright but make more on the money than interest and we overpay the monthly payments.

blame the cheap labor express... endless flow of illegals and H1Bs drive down salaries and wages.

And, at least as important (but oddly never mentioned)... Illegal aliens, one highly suspects, own the housing cost spiral.

They are, one suspects, responsible for driving down availability of housing supply, and they are thus responsible for increasing the demand and ergo the cost.

Illegal aliens. (They are also taking up valuable spaces in public schools; and, they are in front of you and your family in line at the emergency room at your local hospital.)

Oh, and they vote (Dem).

Part of this is, in my opinion, that there are few ‘companies for life’ with lifetime pension after retirement these days. My parents both retired from large companies from which they received lifetime pensions and medical benefits. That’s from a bygone era, is not sustainable for most companies, and few people have anything like that now *

*Unless they work for the government, of course.

These terrible economic problems remind me of the scourge of climate change. The globe has warmed so much that the snow doesn’t stay on the ground in my front yard more than a few months at a time, now. Heat wave!

If the economy keeps tanking like this, I may have to buy another house to use up the extra income. How can we stand these terrible problems?

Well. Everyone “has” to have smart phones, and high speed internet. Drop those 2 things and people would save hundreds a month. No problem getting by then.

I sold cars for two years amd and could not believe the priority many idiots placed on driving big shot vehicles, which payments for where always going to leave them strapped for cash every month...

Dumb

Drive a reasonable car payment or pay cash.

It’s like buying fake luxury items.

People like me and my friends have the real stuff and can afford to buy fake stuff.

The ones who purchase the fake stuff, so they can be posuers, are just kidding themselves.

I wear a particular Omega watch, very limited in production and can spot fakes a mile away

Those of us who have genuine items take them off and trade for a few minutes of conversation

When you possess a fake, they never hand it to you for inspection.

IF this is true, the folks need to practice restraint on spending, use common sense and stick to a budget, stop using credit cards and begin using hard cash instead. Eliminate CC debt ASAP.
