I would change a couple of words and pass it again. Many states do their ballots that way. New York is one.

Unintended consequence:

Many stupid Dems will instinctively vote for the candidate listed in the number two slot out of habit, even if after the change the #2 slot is one of our guys.

A.G. Barr can add another example to his list of judicial meddling with this political matter.

Gosh - in Mississippi, whenever there was someone from both parties on the ballot, the Dem was first in line....we were still smart enough to have a Repub sweep....if they mix i tup in Florida and alternate/jumble who appears first, it won’t confuse the Conservatives.....

Its good we have all these judges. We would have to utilize self-government and rule of law if we didn’t have these judges to tell us what to do.

Republicans don’t fight. Republicans, as a Party, never fight. I suppose that it is not in their DNA to fight.Do you believe that the Democrats would sit on their asses and watch their President be put through what President Trump has been put through without raising holy hell?

“So, the judge is saying that voters will automatically tend to vote for the name that appears first? Or that voters are too lazy to read both names? Or that it’s too hard to vote for the name that appears second? Or that the order of the names implies some sort of ranking system?”

“Yes” to all. When I ran elections in the ‘80s, our ballots were printed with all names rotated from ballot to ballot, and within each race; it was a planning and printing nightmare! If eight people ran for Governor, there were eight ballots, and ditto for down-ballot races. It was learned that voters ARE too stupid to think, and they often DO pick the first one on a list.

Actually, that method is a good idea. Any other method is rather unfair - alphabetical by party always puts a certain one on top, and they’ll just change the official (but not advertised) name until we end up with the aaaaaaaaaa (aka Dem) party vs the aaaaaaaaa (aka Repub) party...

Probably one of the fairest ways to do it is by the Gov’s party. Not biased, as either party can hold the Governorship, it’d vary from state to state, occasionally change, and give an extra incentive to try harder to win that position.
