About 100 students at an Oregon high school walked out of classes last week in support of the LGBTQ community after they said a series of events made students feel unsafe, including the presence of a Chick-fil-A food truck at home football games.
The West Linn High School students, organized by the school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance, walked out of school Friday to protest what they say is rising anti-LGBTQ sentiment on campus. GSA President Susie Walters, who organized the protest, told a local NBC affiliate that LGBTQ students have increasingly been the target of harassment and bullying at the school. Two recent incidents sparked the protest, including a transgender senior’s car being vandalized with the word “queer” on it and Chick-fil-A being invited as this season’s food vendor for home football games.
“We walked out to show our student pride,” Billie Henderson, the student whose car was vandalized, told Oregon Public Broadcasting. “To show that despite everything we’ve been through, we are still proud of who we are, and we won’t back down and we won’t make exceptions for anyone.” A group of counterprotesters also walked out of classes wearing “Make America Great Again” hats and waving American flags and Chick-fil-A bags, Breitbart News reported. West Linn Principal Greg Neuman sent an email to parents on Friday saying that while the school supports students’ free speech, it does not encourage walkouts, OPB reported Andrew Kilstrom, the school’s public information officer, said the schoolwas unaware of any acts of harassment against its students. “The West Linn-Wilsonville School District takes all matters of school safety seriously, and diligently investigates and addresses all potential safety concerns,” he said, OPB reported. “That includes bullying or cyberbullying.”

The first "incident" is 98% likely a hoax as nearly all of these types of things are. The second one is a made up issue.
I'll say it now, I'm not there but I live in 21st century America so I'll go right out on a limb and say that gays are not being bullied and harassed there but it doesn't matter. If they aren't, they'll pretend they are and insist on even more special treatment. You cannot satiate a left wing victim group's appetite for concessions. Just cannot do it.

Liberals are turning liberal political dogma into a religion via social justice. They have the total power to live in a bubble so strong that the next generation BELIEVES the branding.
They take it as faith that liberal = good, love, smart, rational, so the unbelievers are stupid, crazy, evil, haters. That love means agreeing with liberal doctrine of the moment and you should hate the haters because they want to hurt/kill you.
Social justice is thus liberal dogma invested with religious levels of devotion. Facts contrary to this are blasphemous hate speech, and you are never to listen to it and attack the evil infidels.
And don’t tolerate the unbelievers and their symbols. Tear down their statues and put up yours in their place. Take down their portraits and demand they never show their religious symbols, it is evil. And don’t eat the forbidden foods.

The high school has almost 2000 students so 100 equals about 5% of the student body. This does not sound like a mass exodus to me.
I just checked their football schedule and Friday was their last regular season game. Counting Friday’s game they’ve had 7 home games. Did the CFA truck just suddenly appear at the games or was it there for the whole season starting Sept 6, their 1st home game?
If the CFA truck was there the whole time then what took the snowflakes so long to get outraged?
They’re in the playoffs Friday which could be a home game.
Personally, I think that ALL “student walk-outs” (regardless of the excuse to “leave class”) should IN EVERY CASE be “rewarded with” a week SUSPENSION, ZEROS for all classwork/homework that is missed & a BAN from participating in any extracurricular activities for the rest of the school year.
(Doing that would get their parent’s attention.)
