Flashback: Obama Fired All Bush Appointed Ambassadors In 2008
Daily Caller ^ | November 15, 2019 | Shelby Talcott

Posted on 11/15/2019 1:20:57 PM PST by Brown Deer

The former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch testified Friday about President Donald Trump firing her amid an alleged “smear campaign,” but firing ambassadors appointed by former presidents is commonplace.

Former President Barack Obama fired all ambassadors appointed by former President George W. Bush in 2008, The Washington Post previously reported. Yovanovitch testified Friday that the Trump administration, including the president’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, “kneecapped” her. She said State Department leaders did not support her after being recalled in May.

“Political ambassadors sometimes are permitted to stay on briefly during a new administration, but the sweeping nature of the directive suggests that Obama has little interest in retaining any of Bush’s ambassadorial appointees,” WaPo’s 2008 article about Obama’s decision to fire all political ambassadors reads.

Yovanovitch was appointed by Obama in 2016, and newly elected presidents typically re-vamp the positions with their own choices once taking office. Yovanovitch was allowed to stay on for three years after Trump took office, but has testified that senior officials “declined to acknowledge” the “smear campaign” against her leading up to her firing, Politico reported.

Three simple words: “Drain the swamp”. Foggy Bottom is right in the middle of the swamp.

“”I believe Clinton also fired all the assistant AG’s the month he was inaugurated in 1993.””

US Attorneys....not assistant AG’s. GWB got rid of one or two in his first term as I remember and all heck broke loose...

“McLame thought he could reach across the aisle.”

https://themarketswork.com/2018/03/11/victor-pinchuk-the-clintons-endless-connections/

Oleg Deripensky, a Russian oligarch once linked to Paul Manafort, published an Op-Ed in which he made the claim that George Soros was helping fund Fusion GPS.

He also highlighted a conversation between Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Victoria Nuland at the Munich Security Conference in February 2018.

I highlighted Nuland’s role in structuring the Ukrainian government in 2014.

I don’t know about the Soros connection but I did find the Whitehouse-Nuland conversation (Video is queued):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1590&v=MOAIPRy5CkY&feature=emb_logo

WHITEHOUSE: Even in an area [Climate Change] where the administration has carved out perhaps the most irresponsible position it could, on an issue of global significance, nevertheless you can’t really resist the pressure of fact and science – and I guess what the Breitbart crowd would call the Deep State – but what many of us would call knowledgeable professionals who’ve given their lives to these things and actually know what they’re talking about…

…So even on that worst of all issues there’s still a hope for continuity – at least in the Deep State.

Note John Kerry smiling and applauding in the crowd.

NULAND: Well colleagues, you’ve now heard our bi-partisan, bicameral panel of Deep State crowd loyalists give broad reassurance about continuity in U.S. leadership and in U.S. policy overall.

For the record, Sheldon Whitehouse is a blithering idiot.

Continue watching the video a moment longer to see Ex-Representative Jane Harman pay homage to John McCain:

HARMAN: His voice, his presence, was instrumental in training generations of members of the U.S. Congress on foreign policy issues.

NULAND: And the U.S. State Department…

HARMAN: And the U.S. State Department too. He had his favorites, you being one Victoria.

Clinton fired them all because one or two in Arkansas were breathing down his neck for all the malfeasance he caused as governor, and he didn’t want to rouse suspicion by just firing two.

Incoming administrations always fire political ambassadors when they come in since they’re almost always campaign donors of the outgoing president. Bush fired Clinton’s. Obama fired Bush’s. Trump fired Obama’s. It’s standard practice.

There is more or less a handbook for new CEO’s which tells them that job #1....like, within hours of taking over...is to fire your secretary.

Why? Because she is loyal to the old CEO, and she knows way, WAY too much.

Harsh, but true.

Trump should have done the same in January 2017. For whatever reason he didn’t.

He fired all the U.S. Attorneys.

Assuming Trump survives the all out dim, GOPe, media, DS assault on him and is re-elected, he should fire every single person in Washington he is authorized to fire. Trump could fit everyone in DC worth saving on Air Force One. He should load those few people on the plane then order the immediate carpet bombing of that God forsaken hell hole.

Republicans are such fools thinking they can get along with democraps. Day 1, fire them all. Day 2 fire anyone in government longer than 10 years. Day 3 Cut the departments due to lack of labor. Day 4 announce to the American people that you just cut government and saved the taxpayers $100’s of billion of dollars and improved efficiently!

President Trump does not care about party affiliation.. He has a big heart and gives the benefit of the doubt.. Even to people who don’t deserve it. He cares about getting the job done for the American people.. and if they show they can’t, or won’t do the job, they are fired.
It’s sickening on how unfair President Trump has been treated!
