Texas Democratic state representative Alfonso "Poncho" Nevárez was caught on video surveillance dropping an envelope containing cocaine at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
The Texas Department of Public Safety filed an affidavit on Oct. 29 detailing surveillance footage that revealed Nevárez "dropping a white paper object" as he walked out of the airport on Sept. 6. Two Texas Department of Transportation employees found the white envelope, prompting an investigation.
Inside the sealed envelope were four "small clear plastic baggies" containing cocaine.
Nevárez, who is chairman of the state house Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee, told the Texas Tribune on Thursday "the news is true."
Nevárez used an envelope with official state letterhead to carry his drugs.
"I observed the white envelope had a letterhead that was from the Office the State of Texas House of Representatives Member Poncho Nevarez,'" Special Agent Otto Cabrera wrote in the affidavit.
The affidavit provides a warrant to test Nevárez's DNA as his saliva is presumed to match the saliva on the envelope. The sample will be used as evidence against the representative.
"I believe that there is probable cause to believe that the DNA profile obtained from Exhibit #S2.P1 could possibly belong to Rep. NEVAREZ," Cabrera said in the affidavit.
On Nov. 8, Nevárez announced he would not seek reelection but did not indicate at the time that drug abuse was his reason for leaving. On Thursday, Nevárez confirmed that the recent news prompted his decision and said he plans to seek treatment.
"I do not have anyone to blame but myself," Nevárez said. "I accept this because it is true and it will help me get better."
He must be angling for a board seat at Burisma.
Yep, just like Jesse Jackass, jr. That moron claimed that he was blowing tons of campaign money on expensive watches, shoes, steak dinners, and his car. Of course the courts and media accepted that lame explanation. Who goes to a rehab center in Arizona for 60 days to be treated for being bipolar and gastrointestinal problems? He went there to dry out before doing his 30 months in prison. If a rich addict went in there, he wouldn’t come out alive. The guards run the heroin action in prison to keep the neanderthals mellow.
That guy looks like a total fruit-basket.
‘Califzooeula’...oh I like that one! Perfect!
Oh Cisco......
It was pretty stupid to put his drugs in an envelope with his official office insignia etc.
But I also think it was stupid to do a DNA test on the bags. He dropped them, they got that on video, they can make that public. I can’t believe they would prosecute him for this and run DNA tests.
Yet another criminal democrat.

This guy represents all the counties that surround, but don't include, Beto O'Rourke's Congressional district.
O'Rourke's father was a local judge who was found with cocaine in his car, and who died mysteriously in a bicycle accident from a hit and run with a pickup truck.
O'Rourke's mother ran a furniture store suspected of laundering $630,000 over a year and a half from one customer.

I’ve not seen that yet so I claim it. Interesting things you think of in the shower.
He wants to make out, behavior takes him out, cocaine.
“Maybe he should tell everyone where he got this...”
He wouldn’t last five minutes. They might also check out the wants and warrants of his staff,

Im Pancho Escobar and I approve this booger sugar
You got it well done my FRiend.
Cartel...my very first thought, too. Is this part of the payoff hes getting from a cartel to look away? Very probable. They wouldnt pay him with baggies, though. Do the financial forensics to see how hes getting paid! He must have a serious habit to carry the junk into an airport.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
” Ill give the guy credit for admitting he has a problem, and taking ownership of it. “
LOL You believe that??
Dont forget State homeland security officials on the take, i.e. bribery and corruption.
