I disagree. Her party is the Democrat Party. She toed the party line.
They were harassing him because they thought they could stop what just happened. Wait until he finishes all his appointments. The judiciary will be back to normal for decades.
So whos the other treacherous RINO besides Collins?
Myrrhcowsky? Mittens?
The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit's territory comprises the states of Connecticut, New York, and Vermont, and the court has appellate jurisdiction over the district courts in the following districts:
A stick in the eye of SDNY!!!
“Every Republican present except Sen. Susan Collins supported Menashi; every Democrat present opposed him.”
.... at least Collins voted for Kavanaugh.
If you remember, the dems first tried to bribe her. Then when that didn’t work, they resorted to threats...... which promptly pissed the living sh!t out of Collins.
I knew she was going to vote YES.
Yep...when they asked Donald Trump Jr. who his favorite Democrat was, he should have said Mitt Romney AND Susan Collins.
If they impeach Trump and it goes to the Senate, it is douchebags like Collins that make me stop short of saying they won’t convict President Trump.
If it gets that far I’ll breathe easier after the vote. I don’t know why so many here find it impossible that Republicans would screw us. Yes they would lose office but God knows how much they are being offered by the Deep State. And who has pictures of them being compromised?
I now believe that’s a very long shot but still I will be happy when this is all over
Pretty much how I feel.
This is nauseating. It makes me feel like the passing of Obamacare all over again. I thought that would never happen.
And the scumbag from Massachusetts, Brown, who I actually held a sign for, helped them do it.
Boy, does that burn a smoking hole in me to this day. Granted, it was him or Martha Coakley, an unprincipled leftist moonbat if there ever was one, but at least the knife would have gone into my chest from the front if her hand was holding it, not the back.
...confirmed Steven Menashi to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit... The Senate confirmed Menashi 51 to 41, largely along party lines. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, broke with her party to vote against the nominee.
Yeah, Collins, a Republican, good one.
It takes 2/3rds to convict in the Senate..That would mean there would have to be 15 more turn on President Trump...
To give credit where it’s due, Collins gave the most clear, rational and eloquent speech on why she (finally) chose to vote for Kavanaugh.
Many of us vote Republican because "lesser of two evils".
We might as well elect our enemies after a Repuke betrayal over impeachment, so we can get on with the business of a lethal REAL Resistance, with our enemies in office.
2nd Circuit has been known to have gravitas. Now it might actually deserve that reputation.
Yeah, I really don’t see it happening, but if it did, the consequence would definitely be bloody...
What is important here is NOT that Collins voted against Menashi, but that EVERY OTHER REPUBLICAN present voted for him.
Based on him getting 51 votes (out of 53 Republicans), and no Democrat supporting him, that means one other Republican did not vote (along with a lot of Democrats). I don’t know who that is, but it doesn’t really matter.
What matters is that at least most of the RINOS supported him, and that includes Murkowski (who voted against Kavenaugh) and probably Romney, along with all of the other Trump haters.
But what REALLY COUNTS here is that Susan Collins could NOT stop him from being confirmed, whereas she held all of the power regarding Kavenaugh - no drama this time. Why? Because there are now 53 Republicans in the Senate and 51 of them were present to vote for Menashi, and they did. And Menashi makes Kavenaugh look like a Choir Boy, based on what’s being reported about him. He will be AWESOME on that court!
So, to all you RINO-haters, I accept YOUR APOLOGY, the fact that you now understand that we win this game based on the number of Republicans, RINO or not, as this vote just showed.
OK. One judge confirmed this week.
Also pending in the Senate are:
3 11th Court of Appeals nominees.
2 9th Court of Appeals nominees
1 5th Court of Appeals nominees (this one is questionable)
.... plus a whole slew of Dustrict Court nominees. McConnell needs to confirm MUCH more than one nominee a week to make a dent in his backlogged nominees waiting for confirmation votes.
Cant wait for t the great’s 5th pick on scotus
