“Taylor explained his staff just recently told him they had overheard the president while dining out with Gordon Sondland, the Ambassador to the European Union. Taylor’s staff explained that Sondland had called President Trump at the restaurant and they could hear his voice over the phone.”

How CON-VEN-IENT!

OVERHEARD = Hearsay

But as I recall, the R and Trump don’t deny mentioning investigating and Biden on the phone call/transcript - what they deny is establishing a quid pro quo, or conditioning aid on public statements re investigations. On that issue this new overheard phone call adds nothing. Zelensky’s three meetings with Taylor never mentioned these conditions.

So I see nothing wrong with Trump mentioning investigations, pursuing corruption is fair game. Still, we have no first hand witness stating quid pro quo, in fact we have a first hand witness in Zelensky who has publicly stated the opposite. And I personally don’t think running for President (Biden, or anyone) gets you some “get out of jail free” card making you immune from investigation.
