Trump’s Tweet said that if the Supreme Court rules against the the Dreamers then a deal will be worked with Congress for them to stay. Does he honestly think he will be able to make a deal with the Democrats? In an election year?

Use your head and read the again. He doesn’t say he will be the one proposing the deal. He just says that a deal will be made. The Trump administration merely has to start enforcing the law as written and Congress will come to him with a bi-partisan deal. . . they’ll have to come up with a solution to the problem. Whether or not he signs the legislation or not is the question.

Use your head. Whoever proposes the deal it'll take both sides to agree to it. What possible incentive do the Democrats have to strike one? In an election year?
