“And now that he’s taking charge, the police are going to have a lot less work clogging up their schedules. That’s because Boudin plans to “decriminalize” a whole raft of lower-level crimes.”

Actually, decriminalizing minor things will just increase the rate of serious crimes. Criminals will feel emboldened and free to do what they want.

Chesa Boudin will have to re-learn history ( but I’m sure he does not want to be bothered by it since he’s so trapped in his own ideology )

Rudy Giuliani *AND* eventually Michael Bloomberg applied the BROKEN WINDOWS THEORY to a once ungovernable new York City and it worked for 20 years, making NYC one of the safest big cities in the USA.

The broken windows theory is a criminological theory that states that visible signs of crime, anti-social behavior, and civil disorder create an urban environment that encourages further crime and disorder, including serious crimes. The theory suggests that policing methods that target minor crimes such as vandalism, public drinking, peeing and fare evasion help to create an atmosphere of order and lawfulness, thereby preventing more serious crimes.

Yeah. Hate to be a Godwin’s Law example as part of this thread, but Kristallnacht comes to mind.
