New San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin Okays Hookers, Peeing In Public

As of this weekend, the City by the Bay has a new, incoming District Attorney. Chesa Boudin ran on a social justice platform thats pretty far to the left, even by San Francisco standards. And now that hes taking charge, the police are going to have a lot less work clogging up their schedules. Thats because Boudin plans to decriminalize a whole raft of lower-level crimes. These include public urination, camping on the sidewalks and peeing in public. (Daily Caller)
Chesa Boudin, the urine-and-feces-plagued citys incoming district attorney, pledged during the campaign not to prosecute public urination and other quality-of-life crimes if he was elected. Boudin declared victory Saturday night after results showed him winning a plurality of votes in the DA race.
We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes. Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted, Boudin vowed in response to an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) questionnaire during the campaign.
Many of these crimes are still being prosecuted, we have a long way to go to decriminalize poverty and homelessness, he lamented.
Yes, this is all part of whats become commonly known on the left as decriminalizing poverty. The obvious flaw in that concept comes with the fact that its not illegal to be poor anywhere in this country. There are no laws against poverty nor any fines or imprisonment associated with the condition of being poor. There are, however, laws against certain activities most commonly observed among the homeless.
So under this emerging theory of social justice, activities previously considered destructive or even posing a danger to public health are to be ignored rather than running the risk of appearing to go too hard on homeless people. Keep in mind the fact that the city is already facing a public health crisis from public urination and defecation to the point where they have had to divert resources to public poop patrols assigned to clean up the mess.
As far as the prostitution arrests go, I dont personally have a problem with the idea. Ive long felt that prostitution itself shouldnt be considered a criminal act in a free capitalist society. The trafficking of women, and particularly children, should still carry serious penalties, but what people choose to do with their own bodies is their business.
But none of this gets the meat of the whole decriminalization idea. If you think that certain crimes should no longer be classified as such or perhaps carry more minor penalties, then fine. Work with your local legislators and have the laws changed. But the job of a District Attorney is to enforce the laws as they exist, not as he or she might wish they existed. When you become the District Attorney, you take an oath to uphold the law. San Francisco has just elected a person who ran on a promise to violate his oath before he even got into office.

Pelosi’s very nice $$$ house backs up to Mountain Lake Park, a lovely spot to walk your dog, play volleyball, wheel your baby carriage. I lived there so I know. We had to pick up dog poop back then, which polite dog owners really did.
So my question is: Is dog poop OK now? Or just human poop?
I try to avoid wishing harm on anyone, but pooping homeless people should make a beeline for Nancy’s park. Lovely place to squat. If I still lived in SF, I’d hand out pamphlets to the down-and-out and suggest they move there.

I love Fisherman’s Wharf, but have to laugh when I hear the name. I am from Boston - born and bred, altho I married into NJ. On my first visit to the wharf area, as I entered, I saw a sign for New England Clam Chowder!!! Huh? But it was good!!

Predictions are for fools but I will make a fool of myself to say that the “homeless” population in San Francisco will increase, and their bad behavior will only get worse.
After all, we all know what you punish you get less of, and what you reward you will get more of.
San Francisco is simply returning to it’s roots of corruption and lawlessness.
Maybe it is time to bring back the COMMITTEE OF VIGILANCE.

Yep, the ticket for eating a sandwich on BART was reported today, naturally it was “racist”....at least SF is concentrating on the really bad crimes like using plastic straws or Styrofoam containers for take-out food. They even managed to put up a huge mural of that poor, mentally challenged child from Sweden yet, when they wanted to paint over a mural at a school a month or so ago depicting some warts from history, they didn’t. One of the reasons being that it required a $600,000 environmental impact report be issued before it could be painted over... The crazy runs wide and deep there.....

San Freakcisco beats Detroit as the example of destruction the Democrats are capable of doing, imho. Detroit wasnt nearly as beautiful and to my mind, SF exhibits successful liberal utopia. A place where homosexuals have sex on the streets during a festival, addicts shoot up and discard their needles (that they got from taxpayer dollars), homeless pee and poop all over the streets and real estate prices are completely ridiculous. Bill Ayers kid is the right man for the job. One can only hope that Nazi Pelosi will have to retire to her big mansion on the hill, where she will be a prisoner to what she helped create. The only thing that could improve on all of this madness is that while Pelosi is stuck there, outside of her walls is the epidemic thats headed their way.
