I guess the USSR had infiltrated us pretty badly back in the day too. The USSR used to be my biggest worry, while I dismissed conspiracy theories about the FBI, CIA, and the rest of the deep state pulling the strings to control our government. It turns out that I missed half of the problem. All totalitarians who lust after power over others are the threat, whether they call you "comrade" or "deplorable".

You are not alone.
While this is drifting somewhat off-topic, I wanted to make sure you were aware of this formerly wild conspiracy theory that is now undisputed conspiracy fact:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/confirmed-the-us-census-b/
This is a _big_ deal because the Census Bureau will be promising everyone (in the 2020 census) that their data is private when we now know that any future "national emergency" voids that promise.
Btw, not one of the hundreds or thousands of census bureau leaders, middle managers, or even file clerks was a whistle blower for the many decades this secret was kept.
Not one.
Remember that next time someone tells you: "They couldn't have kept _that_ secret, too many people knew about it."

That last line is great.
New enemy same as the old enemy.
We crushed the USSR only to possibly end up like them.
THAT’S irony
