I agree. My self I am glad the balloon was destroyed beyond repair.

If I was impaneled on the jury, I would send this guy to jail, for about 10 seconds.
By going on talk radio, and saying what happened, he is building a great defense for his trial.
He set up a GoFundMe account with a goal of $6,000. Last I checked he had received over $41k but apparently ran afoul of GFM terms and he reported that his campaign was to be shut down and money refunded to the donors.
It is time for an overhaul.
Balloon will prolly have a defensive cordon around next time it’s deployed, at which point a cheap drone with sharpened rotor blades could be anonymously put into attack mode.
Take it to trial, count on the people of Alabama to throw this into the trash. NOT ONE PENNY TO RESTORE THE BALLOON, I will spend a few hundred to help with your defense if you take it all the way to trial.
