The thing I like about you and have always liked about you is the fact you are honest about your posts. Refreshing.
I also don’t have any sympathy for ISIS style tactics. I can just separate these things. I have sympathy for the democracy movement in Hong Kong in general and total disgust with individuals that try to burn someone alive.
Sometimes too honest!
It’s good to think for a few seconds before I type, as emotional responses are usually not the best.
And I just don’t know about the level of oppression there and the hate it’s generating.
A crazy guy, apparently from the neighborhood, pulled a knife on my pop at the front door when I was 14. Pop died a week later from a heart attack while on vacation.
He had TWO heart attacks and TWO strokes already under the belt and a REALLY BAD aneurysm only six months earlier that he survived.
So his death probably had NOTHING to do with the guy pulling the knife on him.
But I was 14 then and even at 51 I still think I would set that guy aflame without thinking twice. Thought at his likely current age (80s?) maybe i wouldn’t. THEN I definitely would have.
That I DIDNT come to the front door from upstairs with all the commotion going on is a miracle because I would have killed him had I known who it was, after my father died. No one would let me know who he was.
Hatred can cause folks to do brutal things.
Kind of a wasteful emotion and draining.
And there are plenty of good Italian Americans but TOO MANY from Brooklyn and Staten Island are just Gotti wannabe Animals that should be put down.
I’m saying that as an Italian American who is more coarse and vulgar than he should have aspired to be.

Just saying hatred sometimes makes people do things they otherwise would not.
