Bernie Sanders wants to change the way your credit score is calculated.
He would eliminate the private credit reporting companies and substitute them with a government-managed credit registry.
Medical debts would be excluded from people’s reports.
There could be a new factor to your credit score: the president of the United States.
Independent candidate Bernie Sanders wants to eliminate the private credit reporting companies and substitute them with a government-managed credit registry. The proposal was released over the weekend and, at the same time, Sanders announced his plan to erase $81 billion in past-due medical debt, one of the main issues dogging Americans’ credit reports today.
Sen. Sanders, I-Vt., says the public credit registry would be housed in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the agency created in 2011 to protect Americans from predatory lenders in the wake of the financial crisis. According to Sanders’ campaign, the new system would use a “transparent algorithm to determine creditworthiness that eliminates racial biases in credit scores” and allows Americans to access their credit scores for free. Medical debts would be excluded from people’s reports.
“We must and we will remove the profit motive from assessing the creditworthiness of American consumers,” Sanders’ announcement reads.

And what's this BS about making credit scoring not about money??? First, it's INHERENTLY about money, and second, how do you make sure the evaluatirs do a good job unless their livelihood is at risk if they eff it up?
With affirmative action credit boosts for “preferred groups” that vote Democratic.

Bernie supports the Government having the ability to raid our 401Ks.
So he wants to give the government total and complete access to everyone’s financial situation. Ideal for someone like him, who would decide how much money you “need” and take all the rest.
The end goal is for the government to decide how much money you should have, and naturally reward those who say that climate change is real, that *slam doesn’t promote violence, and that Trump is bad.
Do not doubt for one minute that they want to do all this, and more.
So let the government control your credit worthiness. Imagine if you don’t get in line with “left” “radical” thinking and they decide to give you a social justice credit score.
Don’t believe in climate change? Ding
Don’t believe in same sex marriage? Ding
Offended by Transexuals reading to your kids in the library? Ding
The list is endless of them adding SJ credit rating if given control and access

I can see where this is headed. Bad credit will become like preexisting conditions in Obamacare: just another cost to be socialized.
I could live for a week off that turkey dressing over wild rice alone!

This sounds exactly like the new system in communist China.
I believe they are calling it a Character Rating.
Just what we don’t need — politicized credit ratings, where welfare democrats and millennials living in their parents’ basements can over-borrow and still get a great rating.
If I identify with paying my bills on time, will Bernie give me a 1,000+ credit score?
