U.S.-based open-end mutual funds and exchange-traded funds reportedly own nearly a third of the stock in Americas two publicly traded gun companies, even as Main Street investors are avoiding such shares.
The only two remaining gun-company stocks in the U.S. are Sturm Ruger (RGR) and American Outdoor Brands Corp. (AOBC), owner of gun maker Smith & Wesson.
Funds hold about 30% of the two companies combined shares, according to data compiled in late October for the Wall Street Journal by fund tracker Morningstar Inc. There are some 201 funds invested in one or both of the companies, mostly small-cap funds, reflecting the companies market capitalization.

If these funds abandon these stocks, I imagine that other funds, or individual investors, would pick them up.
I own these stocks and their guns (we have registration in CA). I belong to FR and various gun boards. I voted for Trump. If he loses in ‘20, you can bet the dim intel agencies will have me on their lists.
Uh-oh. Not just guns have stocks, it turns out that ALL publicly traded companies have stocks!!! Ridding the country of anything with stocks will be a high priority of the Warren, or Sanders, or Bloomberg administration!!!.
We could ban this bump, wouldn’t have much of an impact:

Well, not really. New guns are kept track of by the state but 95% of my totally legal collection they have no clue about nor will they ever. I’m a smith and pretty much build what I want.
I moved my shop, my guns, and my tools out of this state last month and my drivers license will have OREGON on it before the end of the year.
The first gun store I walked into up there and seeking information made up my mind it was time to leave this communist state. ]
Oregon has zero supplementary gun laws. The laws that apply are just the federal laws.
We have substantial holding here but managed to trade it straight across for the same type of assets up there. No money changed hands. Kalifornia will not be getting a huge chunk of taxes out of that either.
So, Screw the peoples republik of kalifornia. Me, mine, and are all of our assets, our earnings, and retirements are gone forever.
Good for you. If I was younger and didn’t have so many roots here, I’d leave too.
Oregon is about to vote in some really heinous anti gun laws.
I’ve lived here for over 35 years and I cannot believe His radically Left this state is turning.
Most of my friends are talking about moving to, or have already moved to, conservative states like Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska or Arizona.
Just don’t get your hopes too high.
