House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Saturday effectively denied Republican lawmakers' request for a government whistleblower to testify in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
Schiff, who has helped lead the impeachment hearings of Trump and his dealings with Ukraine, said in a letter to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the Intelligence panel, that whistleblower's testimony would be "redundant" and "unnecessary," according to multiple reports.
"The impeachment inquiry, moreover, has gathered an ever-growing body of evidence -- from witnesses and documents, including the President's own words in his July 25 call record -- that not only confirms, but far exceeds, the initial information in the whistleblower's complaint," Schiff said. "The whistleblower's testimony is therefore redundant and unnecessary.
Schiff added that "the individual's appearance before us would only place their personal safety at grave risk" because of Trump's repeated threats.
The whistleblower complaint accusing Trump of pushing Ukraine to open investigations for his political benefit led House Democrats in September to launch an impeachment inquiry. Multiple House committees have heard depositions from numerous former and current administration officials corroborating the whistleblower's account behind closed doors and public hearings are scheduled this week.

Well, well, well ....can he be subpoenaed by the Senate Judiciary Committee? As ar as I know, Schiff does not have dictatorial VETO power there. Lindsey Graham only allows that dictatorial VETO power to be exercised by blue state DemocRATS, using the Blue Slip process, to veto Trump’s District Court nominees in their states..
Eric Ciaramella may be the face of the whistleblower but I believe the whistileblower is a composite character Democrats created to leak their ‘narrative’ (ie. lies) to the media.
Schiff does not want it known that his staff wrote the original complaint and recruited the whistleblower as a front.

Let's see--the original phone call showed that the President was conducting foreign policy, as the Constitution mandates. The "whistleblower complaint" was a tangle of legalese written by people who wanted to claim that the President said/did things in that phone call that he didn't do or say. The fact that the actual phone call contradicted the "complaint" should have shut down the sham inquiry immediately. But since the coup was planned for two years and the call was merely the trigger to move forward, Schiff for brains is not about to allow facts to get in his way. And calling pertinent witnesses to testify would show just too plainly that this is a coup attempt, pure and simple.
If the DemocRATs do not like the President's policies, they should be out there talking about why they think his policy is flawed, rather than trying to elevate policy disagreements into high crimes and misdemeanors. The fact that they are taking this route shows that they have no substantive objection to his policy, that they are all about accruing more and more power. May God protect us if they succeed.
The rats are going for impeachment in the house and hoping it tarnishes the president for the 2020 election. That’s their game and possibly try to call it bipartisan if they get Romney and one or two other backstabbers to go along in the Senate. It is the job of every Trump supporter to set people straight on this farce by corrupt democrats. I tell anyone the truth who tries to give an ounce of credibility to this corrupt process.
