Open Carry at the Second Amendment Rally at D.C. 2 November, 2019
At the Second Amendment rally on the second of November, 2019, two Second Amendment activists openly carried bananas in their holsters. They were making a significant point. On the public grounds of the nation's capitol, they were barred from bearing arms under the penalty of law. The law was enforced by armed agents of the government. The United States government was founded when the British government attempted to confiscate privately owned arms. The United States government enshrined the right to keep and bear arms in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution.
t is a strange situation for the land of the free and the home of the brave. The author of the Star Spangled Banner, Francis Scott Key, would not have believed it. While he lived, citizens could carry arms, openly or concealed as they wished, without legal hindrance, certainly in the District of Columbia. Key died in 1843. The first infringements on the Second Amendment took effect after the Supreme Court ruled the Bill of Rights did not apply to the States, in 1833, in Barron v. Baltimore. From thirteen.com:
The Supreme Court, in a decision written by Chief Justice John Marshall, ruled that Barron had no claim against the state under the Bill of Rights because the Bill of Rights does not apply to the states.
At first, there were only a couple of states that infringed on the Second Amendment, and they limited their infringements to banning concealed carry.
The first four presidents of the United States owned numerous personal arms and used them regularly.
It wasn't until 1932,

Open carry of bananas?
Looks like a march of submission to unlawful tyranny.

Nothing wrong with not carrying during this protest. The DC jail is a nasty place. But the banana thing is more than just silly. As you said, it kinda looks like a submission: Since I cant carry a gun, Ill just carry this here banana instead.
If everyone there DID carry, prosecuted separately, we might make some actual progress toward “right to keep & bear”.
Bananas? Probably had the local libs scrambling for prophylactics.

That sure would make for an interesting scenario. If two guys carried, two guys would be off to the DC jail. But if two thousand guys carried...
Exactly.
My long running theory is: rather than spending years concocting a perfect (and very expensive) case, create a boilerplate guide for thousands to process practically the same case nationwide simultaneously to induce wildly varying court results and thus drive shall not be infringed to SCOTUS in short order.
Reference ; Monty Python.
Let me guess, the Conceal Carry guys put a Condom on their Bananas.
What would happen if they put a BB or Airsoft Pistol in their Holsters? Are those illegal in DC?
They are illegal to openly carry in the District of Columbia.
The Republic is doomed.
If 2000 people carried, the military would be called out and would kill them all. This hasn't been a Constitutional Republic for more than 100 years.
Actually, probably about 159 years or so. Abe Lincoln was correct about one thing, in “preserving the Union” he likely “destroyed the Republic”, his words, even. Yet, everyone seems to love him for something or other .
