House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan has been assigned by Republican leadership to serve on the House Intelligence Committee so he can participate in questioning in the open Trump impeachment hearings starting next week.
Jordan, R-Ohio, replaces Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Ark., who temporarily resigned from his post on the panel Friday.
Jim Jordan has been on the front lines in the fight for fairness and truth. His addition will ensure more accountability and transparency in this sham process," House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy said in a statement on Friday.
Under current terms, Jordan, as the top Republican on the Oversight Committee, has been in the room for most closed-door depositions. Because he is not a member of the Intelligence Committee, though, the Ohio Republican cannot ask questions.
"In Speaker Pelosis House, those responsibilities have fallen victim to partisan witch hunts," McCarthy said. "The typically venerable Intelligence Committee has now become the partisan Impeachment Committee."
McCarthy said Crawford will rejoin the committee after the inquiry is complete.
"Along with millions of Americans across the country who are frustrated with this impeachment-obsessed majority, Rick has offered to step aside for this charade," McCarthy said. "When it is finished, Rick will rejoin the committee and resume his work to keep our country safe."
A senior House Democratic aid tells Fox News that Democrats allowed the personnel shift because it is customary that whoever the minority proposes is accepted.

Theyve been trying this for the last 5 years....
“Ohio has a lot of mess going on right now but as it pertains to Jordan it is about knowing about sexual abuse claims.”
Really? I live in the most liberal part of Ohio, and haven’t heard an utterance of this tripe for years. This is an old story that amounted to nothing years ago, nor will it today.
Peddle your tripe elswhere.
Well Trey is pretty good cross examining someone!
We know he did it. For decades. With dozens and dozens of victims.
Some of them under jordans watch and care.
That is a fact
If you were a victim i dont think you would call it tripe.
Victims say he knew. Referee says he knew.
But go ahead and pretend there is no way he knew
So, Chick, let’s just:
THROW JORDAN UNDER THE BUS.
That’s what all dims would want.
It is unbelievable to me that people here dont think it is possible that a known systemic pedophile problem that has been shown as fact was known to others.
Just like the Catholic church excuse.
Yes..i dont care who you are..they should ALL be held accountable. What happened was tragic.
Btw. When 22 coaches admit this was a known problem..it gets harder and harder to defend. One wrestler says jordan knew and confronted the Dr.
In my opinion..he knew but there was nothing he could do within the system.
We need a group of lawyers willing to do the same to the dems. Sue them for anything in their past whether true or not. With how corrupt the dems as a group are, it shouldn’t be difficult to find true illegal actions in their pasts.
What happened at ohio state is horrific. It has been covered up..and just now more light is being shown on it. You should denouce what happened.
One wrestler was raped by strauss and told by chris ford. .wrestling coach..that he was lying. This isnt just one person. It is clear Strauss screwed up many lives
Ohio state is trying to mitigate the damage but they desrerve to be sued into oblivion
im taking about Jim Jourdan...dont bother me with bizarre sex stories...
It is not plausible that Jim Jordan did not know what his boss knew given that Jim Jordan shared that shower room.
Two of the victims have stated publicly that Jordan AND his boss knew but they feel like Jordan and his boss did nothing wrong because they moved it up the ladder.
Jordan knew. He wasnt in a position to day anything about it.
Even if you don’t believe he knew about the sexual abuse..he certainly knew about the gauntlet of deviousness of Larkins Hall.
It is not believable that Jordan is the only one that didn’t know about any of it. Strauss was fixated on the wrestlers but the abuse was across many many sports.
You should be outraged at what took place
But you can continue to defend the indefensible
Meanwhile, a professional referee has come forward and said Jordan knew.
I have a request.
I would appreciate it if someone could point me to directions on how to delete Post Replies.
Thanks in advance.
“According to the 232-page investigative report: 22 coaches, 18 student athletic trainers, and five team physicians across multiple sports confirmed they were aware of rumors or complaints about Strauss misconduct. At the Student Health Center, the director assigned chaperones to keep an eye on Strauss in the exam rooms.”
It is not believable that Wrestling coaches did not know about this given Strauss had a fixation on wrestlers.
The problem clearly was getting Ohio State to do something about the problem. This was a different time. A lowly assistant coach doesn’t have much ability to do anything other than send it up the chain of command or go public and lose your career. BUT he did have a duty to do what he could to protect his athletes by at least warning them.
btw, if Jordan has said from the outset that he knew and that he reported it multiple times and nothing was done..and he wishes he had done more he might have come out of this unscathed.
Instead, he dug in with a story that is not believable. Hard to see how he gets out of this as more of this unfolds. Even if the referee is lying for political retribution you can’t ignore that fact that so many coaches and staff knew.
College Athletic program coaches talk. He knew. He just couldnt do anything about it short of committing career suicide and going public
your first post describes a mess in Ohio that does not exists and a narrative that is not at the forefront topics.
Were you a victim of this doctor? Was this doctor Hercules? Have you ever been to an OSU wrestling tournament? If you believe that a team of Buckeye wrestlers was fondled and abused by a lone doctor, you are an abject moron and beyond help.
Regardless, it has NOTHING to do with Jim Jordan, or the TRIPE coming from your mouth.
Of course Ohio State has a mess going on right now on several fronts.
But you must not follow sports.
“If you believe that a team of Buckeye wrestlers was fondled and abused by a lone doctor, you are an abject moron and beyond help”
As for that statement..you are incredibly moronic. Ohio State has already admitted it had a problem. Wrestling Head Coach has already admitted to a problem with Larkins Hall ..he just isn’t admitting to the abuse,YET.
According to the report, the school had knowledge of sexually abusive treatment from Strauss as early as 1979, but reports about Strauss’ conduct were not elevated beyond the Athletics Department or Student Health until 1996.
For the complete idiots in denial over sexual abuse at Ohio State

I have been thinking a lot about your horrible post over the last few minutes.
Your attitude is one of the reasons it takes so long for poor victims to come forward..if they ever do.
These people went through HELL...and here you are still claiming it never happened.
One victim on scholarship for Lacrosse talked about his helplessness over the situation
It is wrong and shameful as is your post.
I hope they change the law in Ohio that gives the victims the full rights to sue. THey are in the process of trying to do just that.
