[It really isn’t all about money.

I know a lot of people think it is, but Trump sold us on ideas.

Hillary spent plenty of money.]

You need ideas, but you also need operational and tactical skill. A man who won 3 NYC mayoral elections, in the most expensive media market in the world, against a Democrat, in a city that gave 72% of the vote to a moron like DeBlasio because of the Democratic machine, is not without skill. Then there’s the matter of him having built a $50b personal fortune from scratch.

Meg Whitman spent ~$150m running for governor in CA. She lost. Then again, she did not build Ebay from scratch - she parachuted in to provide adult supervision after the company was already operating. Bloomberg built Bloomberg LP from Day One, to the point it now has 20,000 employees.

Bloomberg succeeded a very popular Rudy Giuliani in 2001 — in an election that was held just two months after 9/11.

And NYC might be overwhelmingly Democratic, but the Democrats habitually run a lot of goofy nitwits and losers in their mayoral elections. Just take a look at the mayor they have now as a perfect case in point.
