Alexander Vindman s testimony in the House impeachment proceeding has stirred controversy among military members and veterans, some who view the Army lieutenant colonel as a patriot who is being unfairly targeted and others who think he is politicizing the military.
Vindman, the National Security Councils top Ukraine expert, was thrust into the political spotlight when he testified before Congress on Oct. 29 as one of the few people who listened in on a July phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
His appearance in uniform has been a point of contention for some. Military members detailed to the NSC typically wear suits, though Vindman gave his testimony in uniform.
This is a bad look for him to be in uniform," an active duty military officer stationed at the Pentagon told the Washington Examiner. "He makes it look like the Army is behind this. Like the Army is pushing a coup."
Another officer was concerned that Vindmans testimony veered too much into personal assessment.
I don't care what he thinks, he's entitled to his opinion," the officer said. "But it's an opinion and he should give it without the uniform."

If you're speaking for the military -- and have authorization from your chain of command -- you wear the uniform.
If not, you leave it home.
I think we know who he was speaking for...
...and I'm pretty certain John Brennan is not in his immediate chain of command.

Notice he appeared walking to the hearing with three armed police walking with him. Nobody else was so protected. What is he afraid of?
I was an officer for 23 years - and the fact that he was wearing his blues instead of his green service dress uniform - and that was clearly over weight stood out to me.
Odd, to say the least.
As if a criminal or a traitor never wore the uniform.
ABC radio news today referred to him as a decorated Lt. Colonel. Are there any undecorated Lt Colonels.?
I never watch the evening news but often watch the first few seconds just to see if anything has happened.
I have never heard them refer to him unless it is preceded by the word “decorated”.
Wearing a hat is scary.
Thee guy goes to work everyday in a suit and tie. He wore that uniform as a SHIELD. Plain and simple.
He’s a weekend warrior. Many of them are overweight.
The hypocrisy of the left who claim this man is untouchable because of the uniform was pre-planned. However, LtGen. Flynn is not. Why? Flynn supports Trump. This guy hates Trump. Therefore this guy is “a hero.”
Bet a bottle of Khor Vodka that he didn’t wear the uniform to work while on the White House staff.
I see that I am not the only one who noticed that “decorated” epithet, which they always use for the ones they are pushing.
Ollie North wanna-be.
I can’t recall any member of the military, besides Col. North, testifying in uniform.
He wore his uniform to try and establish he is someone to be worshiped.
Of course by wearing the uniform he was trying to turn the moment into his Ollie North moment.
And he DID politicize the military. He was wrong, wrong, wrong.
“one of the few people who listened in on a July phone call “
“Few?” What is, few. At LEAST a dozen policy-makers were on the line. That’s not my definition of “few.”
Why did he come forward?
Is he a patriotic American...or is he defending the corrupt (former) government of Ukraine?
I would like to see this guy demoted and lose his pension.
We're going to have to assume from now on that the military is in on the coup against the President.
Active military should start making declarations of their allegiances now.
Are you for the country, or are you for the coup?
“As if a criminal or a traitor never wore the uniform.”
Like cops.....Most good, not all.
Insecure much?
Odd, to say the least. <<<-—
Odd to the point of orchestrated
