Since the actors...plotters...self-identify this a coup, wouldn’t it be perfectly appropriate to mobilize the Marines to put down the attempt to overthrow the elected executive?
My first suggestion is for them to to occupy the Capitol building and the legislative office buildings arresting all occupants and staff (they can be sorted out later). And then work outward from there.

It would probably only take one fully-armored USMC rifle squad and these POSs would be running like scared rabbits for the hills. Dream? Maybe. But not beyond the realm of possibility in this day & age, especially the way things seem to be going right now.
