The bright spots are the victories of Tate Reeves as governor of Mississippi and the GOPs statewide margins in Kentucky in all races, except the gubernatorial contest.
The mitigations are the Kentucky governors battle, which as of Wednesday morning the Associated Press said was too close to call, though other outlets called it for the Democrat and the loss of both houses of the Virginia legislature for the first time in 20 years.

Conservative Virginians have plenty of reasons to be planning their escape before the full onset of communism.
We got nearly everything we wanted. Lets finish the job in LA and put Eddie Rispone into the governors mansion!

Thats a shoe in.
We are stewed in VA.
“Conservative Virginians have plenty of reasons to be planning their escape before the full onset of communism.”
Where do they run too? Especially if your people have been on the land for 400 years.
With ALL other races for offices, how can the Governor's numbers be SO different? Makes little sense. No coincidences.
The part of Virginia that didn’t secede.
Oh stop it
You can’t find voter fraud in the numbers, not everyone votes straight ticket and yes, Bevin wasn’t that best candidate and suffered from foot in mouth syndrome. Insulting teachers, building toll booths, anti-Trump nonsense, wasn’t a winning strategy for ANY politician.
If the ‘rats were going to cheat, they would have stolen the other state offices as well.
Thank about that
Those Eastern Panhandle counties of West Virginia had better be working on a game plan now to keep the riffraff out.
Not before I get there, lol!
If Bevin hadn’t been a jackass, he would have won reelection. The system worked.
If you live in Virginia and don't want to leave the land where your family has been for 400 years, just start seceding in very small steps.
Not saying there was no fraud on the part of the Dems but keep in mind Bevin’s approval rating was at 33% and was the most unpopular Gov in the Country.
The Democrat ran as a Conservative in every way. I say he RAN like one but of course is NOT since he strongly backs abortion and never criticized Trump.
My guess is if he doesn’t govern as a Conservative he will be a one term player.
I’m very pleased. A Bevin win would have been the trifecta for me.
We need to continue to disperse federal agencies throughout the country.
I moved from my home of 46 years, Seattle, to rural KY. It was a piece of cake. Best move I ever made. Don’t be married to the place you live from a “forefathers” perspective. The whole planet is ours to chose, though some places are less desirable to live. e.g. Sudan
Most jacka** republicans don’t care if they win. They just want to collect all the bennies/graft that come with the position.
Agreed. The guy who ran as an Independent got 27000 votes and everyone of those votes would have gone to Bevin, who lost by just 5000 votes.
Well there looks to be a recount and who knows, maybe, just maybe there will be a slew of “missed” votes found and they will mostly go to Bevin.
Yet another state forfeited to the left, making the Electoral map going forward even more restrictive for the GOP.
