FBI’s Three Favorite Narrative Engineers Update Background Status of IG Report…
The Conservative Treehouse / Last Refuge ^ | Nov 6, 2019 | Sundance

Posted on 11/06/2019 8:26:17 AM PST by Jack Black

When former FBI ‘small group’ members Andrew McCabe, James Baker, Mike Kortan, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were working on their political operation to protect Hillary Clinton and remove Donald Trump they had three specific journalists (narrative engineers) atop their speed dials.

Texts, emails, and documents released over the past three years showed that whenever the small group wanted to leak they preferred: Devlin Barrett, Robert Costa and Matt Zapotosky at the Washington Post. [Example – source, pg 5]

So when we see Barrett, Costa and Zapotosky getting the gang back together to write about the upcoming IG report, it is worth reviewing their carefully engineered narrative. [All emphasis mine]

(Via Washington Post) Justice Department officials are trying to release in the coming weeks a potentially explosive inspector general report about the FBI’s investigation into President Trump’s 2016 campaign, according to multiple people familiar with the effort.

Interesting start to the expository: “trying to release“; the implication here is somewhat of an internal struggle between two opposing forces. Those who are defending the deep state, and by extension the small group, and those attempting sunlight.

Of course the customary anonymous disclaimer “people familiar with the effort”, relates to those inside the FBI/DOJ who are still working earnestly to carry on the corrupt endeavor. Unfortunately it is not a surprise that FBI Director Chris Wray and AG Bill Barr have no removed the career resistance operatives inside the institutions.

[…] One person involved in the discussions said the target date for the report’s release has been Nov. 20, but another indicated that the Justice Department is unlikely to deliver it by then and that it is more likely to come after Thanksgiving because of the complicated and contentious mix of legal, classification and political issues at play.

Where “complicated and contentious” is again representative of the internal dynamic between those who are hell bent on covering-up the corruption, and those who are less inclined. Those who want the full disinfecting distribution want a faster release; those who want the diluted version, prefer delay.

From memory, the Inspector General's report has been promised in:

or Never If the deep state forces succeed.

There is a time-value to information, just as there is to money. The time value of money is so well known there are formulas to calculate it, and has to do with both lost opportunity cost and inflation, that is the devaluation of the currency over time.

Both of these apply to information as well. Knowing something sooner is often far more valuable than knowing it a little later. That's why (when they were still legitimate) reporters competed to get the scoop. And, that's why it's illegal to give some information to anyone earlier than you give it to everyone, as is the case with corporations and their financial filings.

And like money, the value of information often goes down over time, as newer information makes it obsolete.

Even if Horowitz and Barr were to rally and get the OIG Report on FISA abuse out this week, it is already considerably devalued over what it would have been worth in August or September, before the impeachment process was begun.

The Deep State is playing a very effective defense in dragging out the release further and further. But pushing out until now the MSM will be able to put forward that this is merely a response by "the embattled President and his loyal supporters" to the "impending impeachment in the House".

The value sinks further if it isn't released until after the vote, when we are in the midst of the sham Senate trial we seem destined to have to endure.

It will become much easier for the MSM to bury the story amid the drama of a Senate impeachment trial. I'm sure many others remember the Clinton impeachment fondly, as I do.

This is a superb article, an excellent demonstration of the method and benefits of close reading a text, and how to decipher clues in a text given what you know or can surmise about who wrote it and why.

Given the continuing delays releasing the IG report, I’ll bet that the House will vote to impeach first. Then ‘The Hammer’ drops on the Russia-gate conspirators.

Bottom line: The Deep State is still controlling the release of the report and has probably already essentially re-written sections of it.

The whole process is a total farse. Barr should be ashamed of himself for allowing this nonsense to go on and on and on...

Slightly OT for you CW II guys, but the only way we keep a lid on things is allowing the legitimate corrective processes, like IG reports and prosecution of Deep State actors to take place.

If these are thwarted, and there is no reckoning for what the sentient 20% of the population already know has occurred we are deep into the post-Republic post-Rule of Law, and we are effectively living in the Former United States of America.

So, a lot rides on this, and yes, reaction time is a factor in this.

As I explained above, the longer the report is delayed, the less value it has. Imagine, worst case nightmare scenario:

The impeachment goes through the House and the Senate trial results in the removal of POTUS Trump and THEN the long awaited Horowitz IG report is released, demonstrating his innocence.

This may seem far-fetched, but then, this is pretty much what has happened in the Flynn trial.

There, all the evidence supporting Flynn's innocence was not made available to him in the charging phase, as it should have been, and based on what he knew and could prove at the time his lawyers encouraged him to take the guilty plea.

Had Mueller moved a little more quickly to sentence him, we would never even be finding out all the true facts of the FBI colluding to frame him that are coming out now.

Regardless of all the delecate factors involved A.G. Barr has a duty to release the OIG report now. Not after another month of the clowning Adam Schiff has been promulgating lies daily about the President. Not after the contemptible Jerry Nadler has assembled the Impeachment charges, but right freaking now when, YES, it can have the maximum political impact.

This is basic, and it's obvious. My regard for Barr as a champion wanes with each passing day.

How about this, the full votes to impeach and the IG reports no FISA abuse in that order. Place your bets.

Your poll should have these two choices instead.

1. The Senate votes to remove Donald Trump from office.
2. Anyone from the “Small group” or anyone else involved in the conspiracy against Trump goes to jail.

I think #1 is far more likely to happen than #2.

Even in the absence of the FISA report Barr could still release the FISA applications that Trump once ordered to be declassified. This political spying was a fraud perpetrated on the court and a grotesque violation of privacy. We have a right to see them.

I am becoming more and more suspect about Barr’s competence and integrity.

A trip down memory lane, to this article published June 7th which discussed the imminent release of the IG report. Looks like, I should have added June to my list of "months the OIG report was expected" list above, and probably May too.

For the last month, conservative pundits have predicted the ever-imminent dropping of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on his investigation into the circumstances surrounding FISA surveillance of former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page.

June 7, 20117: The Federalist: Why The IG Report On FISA Abuse Will Unleash Barr’s Investigation Of Spygate

Promises, promises, promises.

It's almost starting to feel like a re-run of:

Given the long history of GOP weakness and its inclination to cut and run choice #1 is a safe bet. They will latch onto any shed of information to justify turning against Trump.

Never trust the GOP.
