In America we have police chiefs, sheriffs, and the BATFE, who often operate at cross purposes and have turf to protect. The military does not have a mission to go door to door and if they do, the people’s recognition of their special status will evaporate and armed resistance will break out.
If local law enforcement sends hired goons to kick in doors, then the war is on.
Without registration there is no confiscation without bloodshed. When Red Flag laws are abused to punish political opponents, then shots will be fired.
States with mandatory registration laws are confronted with 90% noncompliance but the flying squads have yet to be sent out. Same has proven true in New Zealand, it turns out.
