With an impeachment investigation into the president officially underway now, is there any hope Congress will get anything else done?
Some in Washington dont have much hope for a productive Congress.
As Washington goes headfirst into impeachment, where does that leave other issues Americans care about?
Were looking at a very ineffective Congress that will not be passing much of anything, said Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation.
Howell said with Congress mired in the back and forth of impeachment, its unlikely any legislation of substance will move.
Even before impeachment, the prospects for any legislation were pretty low, he said.
The question now: can members of Congress deal with impeachment and still get work done for the American people?

California is burning so where is Pelosi and Schiff, huh? But guaranteed they'll be begging for disaster aid. All talk and no duty to their constituents.
The Democrats are running the 2020 campaign out of the HOR and getting US taxpayers to pay for it all.
With that crowd in DC “not working” may be the best thing that ever happened to us!
No. The Rats do not want any win for the Prez. Even when the impeachment fails they will simply go on to the next pre-conceived hoax. IMO
The members of Congress who are devoting all their time to this politically motivated fake-a-rooey “impeachment” should be sued for theft of services. They are receiving a salary to make laws, not run a political cabal.
Now, it's all they want to do, and to hell with what the people want (of course, the only people they "hear" are the ones demanding impeachment, for jaywalking if they have to).
It always amazes me how “journalists” talk about the rats like they are earnest well meaning legislators who are really trying to enact the will of the people. It shows a frightening degree of ignorance. These people would passively get on the trains in 1940’s Germany.
They haven’t in the past four years, being preoccupied with their witch hunts. Why would they start now?
“With an impeachment investigation into the president officially underway...”
Really?
The people who keep electing them and who have had relatives murdered in the cities they run should seriously look at who and what they are voting for.
I hope not. The less time Congress spends doing us, the better off we are.
They’ve done nothing for the past four years.
Absolutely, until they become “law repealers” instead of “law makers” I am good with them being stagnant. Very few good things have come from their law making in the last 200 years.
Between impeachment and campaigning, leaves them little time to chip away at our liberties and pick our pockets...”See good in bad...I like” — Mr. Kim
The Senate filibuster, an impossibly divided electorate, and a hopelessly compromised media ensure that little significant legislation will ever be passed again.
Fewer oppressive laws, fewer regulations, fewer taxes, fewer plums to their donors, fewer dollars shipped off shore to our enemies, fewer...
What’s not to like?
Doing nothing is a lot better than what they would do if they did something.
Nope. They know exactly what they are trying to pull off, it ain't ignorance, it's pure unadulterated evil.
A word that has been virtually removed from the English language.
The donks are so engrossed in crapping on DJT, that they aren't crapping on the rest of America. POTUS gets bad press either from legislative battles with Congress, or a phony impeachment process, there's no win for him optically in both directions. POTUS is taking the bullets meant for us...
Raise taxes? Soak the middle class to pay for gasoline, new immigrant welfare and "education" indoctrination. Restrict 2nd Amendment rights. Curtail First Amendment rights as "hate speech." Sounds like a plan. So glad they are NOT free to pass that crap while obsessing against Trump.
"The only two things sure in life are death and taxes. Death stays roughly the same but taxes go up whenever Congress is in session."--heard in a talk once.
