Close to a thousand anti-police protesters descended on Downtown Brooklyn Friday night, blocking traffic, vandalizing a city bus and shouting obscene insults at NYPD cops.
The demonstration formed soon after 7 p.m. on the streets near the Barclays Center, with protesters unfurling large banners that read the police and Dont let these pigs touch us. The crowd began dispersing by 9 p.m.
The demonstration was in response to a planned crackdown on fare evasion by the NYPD and two controversial police actions in Brooklyn subway stations in recent weeks.
In one of the incidents, an NYPD cop sent straphangers scrambling in terror when he pointed his pistol toward a window from the platform at the Franklin Avenue station in Brooklyn.
In another incident, an officer was caught on camera slugging a 15-year-old boy in a wild melee at the Jay Street-MetroTech station in Downtown Brooklyn.

The free sh’t army on the march!
Hey! Will the dem contestants address this unfair practice of charging for public transport?
It’s New York. I’m having a really hard time caring.
WHO ARE THEY GOING TO CALL WHEN THEY GET ROBBED OR SOMEONE GETS MURDERED?
“Its New York. Im having a really hard time caring”.
Same here as long as they stay there.
“WHO ARE THEY GOING TO CALL WHEN THEY GET ROBBED OR SOMEONE GETS MURDERED”?
They’ll call lawyers so they can sue the cops or the city.
“Same here as long as they stay there.”
Trouble is, obviously, that progressives/liberals have to spread, just as does cancer.
They need new places after they soil their surroundings (and they ALWAYS do).
Guessed right again!
For some strange reason I’m just prejudiced.
They stopped traffic on Flatbush Avenue. Not sure that anyone more than a block away noticed a difference. Traffic never moves through there.
“Same here as long as they stay there”.
The problem is that they are coming “here” and also to where you live.
You’re right. It’s sick and disgusting.
That’s right. They’re like cockroaches and termites.
Cops should just leave NYC and l t the ferals see what its like when left to their own
"pro-Palestinian" supporting their right to execute the LGBTQ while supporting the LGBTQ at home
"pro-civil rights" voting to stop the civil rights movements while claiming those that support it stopped it.
My brain hurts trying to understand these people.
If I was a big city cop surrounded by these cockroaches I think that I’d eventually snap to.
New Detroit City ... errr NYC. When I left NYC long ago, the Bronx looked like a war zone. As far as I’m concerned, they can make all of NYC look like 1970’s Bronx. I could shive a git.
When Andrew and his brother Fredo look up and there is nobody left but the gimmedats, there will be only one group of people left for them to steal from ... which serves them right. We just need to make sure that the Fredo’s can’t leave there.
Snake Pliskin ... please pick up the Red Cutesy Phone ... Snake Pliskin ....
That’s OK.
The people there will just set up community policing by block commissars and administered by Peoples’ Courts to ensure social justice.
They will also devise transportation options that include community sharing of transportation assets, all at affordable and class conscious pricing.
There will also be some kind of “asset sharing” to ensure that precinct representatives will have a nice place to spend their down-time.
Those that disagree with this will be sent to re-education camps, with a high priority in teaching the values of such manual labor as dredging sewers, sifting through garbage for recyclables, and clearing the streets of social parasites.
A New Dawn is Coming! The East is Red!
DeBlasio's fault, should be removed.
Another Baltimore where property values go down, crime goes up and police are around.
